Barriers gone yet??

Does anyone know when the barriers will be gone in MK and HS?? I am planning a June vacation and do not want to see those green walls.

The hub has at least a few more months to go, I would expect well into summer. Even when that's done there are likely to be walls in other places. As for DHS I think we are at just the start of walls all over the park for the next few year. Also, if you don't like walls, stay away from Animal Kingdom.

Epcot is really the only safe bet for no walls at this point in time, right? Downtown Disney is full of them as well.

It's a bit odd to me that every park except Epcot seems to be getting an extreme makeover right now.

I would go so far as to say that there probably will never be a time when there aren't at least a few walls in the parks. The resort has gotten so but that something will always either be under refurbishment.

MK really isn't getting an extreme makeover it's just hat the hub project is very high profile and hard to not notice. As for Epcot there are two big projects under way (Frozen and Soarin) but neither really impacts guest areas at this point. Frozen will get a wall between Mexico and Norway once work starts on the M&G.

I consider the hub and bypass pretty major changes to the MK because they alter the appearance of a very prominent section of the park in quite a dramatic way (and don't forget New Fantasyland was already an extreme makeover). Similar to the rumors at DHS and what we all know is happening at DAK. Soarin' might be a completely transparent upgrade (unless they do revamp the queue), and Frozen is only one change in an otherwise massive park. That's why I said that. I'm actually hoping a big change is coming to Epcot as well and it just hasn't been leaked yet. That park is unfortunately my least favorite.

Like someone else said, we are in a time where there is always going to be construction. My guess is until the 50th then it might slow down a little.

But yes, there will still be walls up in June.

Come june
MK will indeed have walls in the hub. Thankfully the center as well as the south end will be done. By June they should be wrapping up the last of the new walkways and the new show control booths should be well underway but likely not completed.

Animal Kingdom Does indeed have walls EVERYWHERE. I would expect quite a few of them to still be up especially in and around Asia due to the multi year construction of the river of light show. On the plus side Flame tree Barbecue should be back open and the new Starbucks should be either open or close to opening as they are training the coordinators now. To be honest I expect most of the walls in and around the front of the tree of life to be gone by the time you get there but there will still be more walls than you would want.

Epcot is currently fairly wall free aside from a small area in inoventions where test the limits once was. In june however walls will be up between Mexico and Norway where they will be clearing land and starting construction of the Anna and Elsa meet in grope.

Studios is a mixed bag. Sound stage one will definitely have walls in front of it as they are refacing the building for the expanded Toy story midway mania. The area where the hat once stood should hopefully be wall free but it really depends on what their plans for the area are. Rumor is they will be installing a retractable stage but I've seen nor heard any evidence of this. Currently they are going at it with a large excavator, a skid steer and other equipment. In my opinion it looks like they are in a heck of a hurry so I remain hopeful the wall will be gone by june.

Downtown disney /disney Springs There will be walls everywhere but by the time you arrive you probably will not notice them aside from the traffic and parking hassles. Disney springs is really coming along now and there is actually more walkways and retailers open now than before construction started. By the time you arrive the Boathouse should be open and I believe the road conditions will be improving although parking will still be a PITA.

Walls will still be up in DHS in June? I thought the aim was to have them down before SWW for the new stage and all.
The BAH isn't the only thing going on in DHS. That one may or may not be gone, but, there is other activity, like Toy Story expansion and depending on what level they are at with that, might have walls in Pixar Place.
