Barenaked Ladies Fans

This is a thread for Barenaked Ladies fans (the band not nude ladies). I'm on my way to a BNL concert in about an hour and am super excited. This is my fourth time seeing this band over the years but every time I'm just as excited as the first time. Does anyone else enjoy this band as much as I?

I'm normally not a fan of any of today's music, but BNL seems almost all about feel-good/comedy. I like 'em. :wave:

I can't even pinpoint a favourite song, they're all just really good!

Well, I can't claim to be a huge fan but I do like the song where they sing "I just made you say underwear". A very nice happy little song.

And I really do like the "If I had a Million Dollars" song. Come to think of it, I like the Chicken Little song as well. And what was their first one? Something about "your brain starts tickin' ". Please pardon me for my ignorance, I mostly listen to talk radio these days (it's an old person thing ).

Alll in all, a solid pop band with an admirable legacy. I'm glad you enjoyed the show.

I'm a huge BNL fan. And, I find it sad that they are often known for their worst songs. One Week isn't really a reflection of what they are capable of. In fact, I'd say it's my least favorite song. Although they joke a lot in some of their songs, they've also penned some really dark, intelligent tunes.

I pretty much consider Maroon to be their finest album (both in tone and subject matter), but I also really like classic stuff from Gordon all the way up to the Barenaked Ladies are Me(n) stuff. Currently, I can't get "Maybe your right" out of my head.

Funnily Ive seen both kinds of Bare Naked Ladies on stage, but only one played on one that revolved and had a pool size champagne glass.

I've been a big fan of BNL for a long time. I saw them a few years back, they put on a great show. "Stunt" is one of my favorite albums of all time.

That's One Week but it's not their first song. It's actually a single off their fifth album.

I think my favourite lyrics are from Blame it On Me. "You think you're so smart but I've seen you naked and I'll probably see you naked again." and "They say absence makes the heart grow fungus." and "I wax poetic as you're waxing your legs." They've got a lot of clever lyrics.

Actually, I've been a HUGE BNL fan for a long time. They put on a free show in Boston around the time that "If I Had a Million Dollars" came out and it almost shut the city down! It was a great show...

I've seen them on NYE too...and I saw their Christmas show at the Mohegan Sun Casino and they had a local children's choir singing along with them. They rock!

(BTW...One Week is one of my faves...I also love "Who Needs Sleep.")

I loved their Barenaked for the Holidays show! I saw it in their favourite venue - Massey Hall in Toronto. Tyler (the drummer) returned my thumbs up!
