Another disney remake,, sigh...............
Can't they even try to do an original movie or have an original thought? No, I guess that takes talented imagineers to do that.

Imagineers don’t make movies for the studio.

I usually don't respond to such remarks, but I thought it was pretty clear that imagineers are the ones that have the new ideas. Then they can make the movies. Without idea people, disney is just relying on their IP's and remaking all of them that they can. That way, they don't have to pay someone for actually coming up with something different and new.

Imagineers mainly come up with stuff for the Disney Parks, while "Walt Disney Pictures" are the ones that handle the live-action/animated remakes from Walt Disney Animation Studios (and non-remakes such as Mary Poppins Returns, Christopher Robin, and Jungle Cruise).

Bringing this thread back with news - Sarah Polley is reportedly in talks to direct the Live-Action take on Bambi.

Deadline states there is no word on writers or producers yet.

"After winning the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for Women Talking, Sarah Polley is on to the most epic undertaking of her filmmaking career thus far, as Deadline understands that the filmmaker is in talks to helm a live-action take on Bambi in very early development at Disney.

While the studio first signaled its intention to adapt Bambi for live-action back in early 2020, bringing Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Lindsey Beer aboard as writers and Depth of Field to produce, there’s no word yet on the writer and producers attached to the project at this point in time, or when it might be put in motion, given unpredictable strike conditions, for starters."
