Why would there be a switchback on the Lift? Thats really usless. We arent even saying the switchback will be on the lift. So why would there be a power failure. Considering its an old railway. I figure it has a good chance of the old engine of quiting on us. So why wouldn't disney take advantage of the situation? Where else to have it conk out? The temple you go through. This power failure you are mentioning makes no sence.

This is seperate than the switchback. This is one of the seperate show elements. You won't feel yourself braking, well hear it at most. Because they want it to feel natural as possible. Somthing doesn't have to happen with brakes to make it feel 'secure'. If they did lose power. Their system would lock up. Not fly down the mountain.:hammer:

Here is the "switch" track element prior to entering the load/unload station at Thunder Mountain - Magic Kingdom.

Something will happen in the temple...Disney is spending a lot of money to build this extra structure for the lift to go through, so they aren't going to just have the train travel through it in 10 seconds...

I don't doubt for a second that things will happen in the temple. I guess I was just confused with that the switchback would have to happen in the temple.
