We were on it when it broke down. The CMs had to come get us out and I still don't remember them turning many lights on :/ we didn't see anything cool from where we were.

We need time for things to happen.
Not to be rude, but why would you even think this is possible?

It's just against the rules and you're just a guest. You have no business in getting special treatment and it's not worth the liability to "allow" you to do something against the rules. There is only downside for Disney. Imagine getting hurt doing something off the record or against policy?

I want to see the upstairs of Space Ship Earth with the lights on, but I don't think I can just waltz in and ask after hours.

Bottom line, who do you think you are? LOL...answer is no.

Ease 'er down big fella, He was just asking a question. No reason to get worked up. ;)

There are many hidden Jacks from Nightmare Before Christmas.

Try to ride late at night on EMH. Try to have no people in front of you and definitely no people in the buggies behind you. Bring a nice flashlight. The book on the table in the library scene is Nightmare Before Christmas. And there is a hidden Jack and Sally on the right side if the Attic. Sally is a plush and is on the bottom of a little nightstand like thing right as you enter the attic. And Jack is a cookie jar like thing that is hidden deep in the attic right before you go out the window also on the right hand side close to the ground.

Make sure if you're shinning a flash light around that you're not disturbing anyone else's ride! Try to go late at night and maybe strike of a conversation with a cast member once you get out of the stretch room to make sure no one is ahead of behind you!
Omg love all of this info!!!! Thanks so much. Can't wait to look for all these

Honestly, there is not much to see in any backstage area, unfinished drywall, trash, conduit, plumbing. I saw a bunch of open doors on our last trip. There is a video on here somewhere of Spaceship earth with it's lights on at the top, well though the whole ride. It is on youtube. In fact a lot of all lights on videos at Disney attractions.

And really, people need to chill. It was just a question.

I thought your picture was just generic New Jersey guy.

Didn't mean to offend...carry on my man.

My profile pic is beyond reproach and can never be changed.

I always wanted to go backstage of Muppet-Vision 3D, and I even asked about it several times...the answer is no of course, but they've always been very nice about it. They would always feel bad that they couldn't let me see a bit of how the magic was done or get a picture with Sweetums (that's on my bucket list) so they've always offered me some neat things, (like an autograph from Sweetums and some neat Muppet stuff like stickers or other miscellaneous items). While they might not let you backstage, they might give you some cool unique items.

I don't think the chances of getting backstage are high, but it won't hurt to ask.

Get and wear a Birthday button. CMs are nicer to you, you can get more involved in things if you want to, and the button makes it easier. And neat things can happen at character meet and greets. My birthday was celebrated this year at Mk. Definitely a nice experience.

You will get CM's wishing you happy birthday and if your lucky you might get a free dessert but, this is hit or miss considering how many guests are "celebrating" their birthdays/anniversaries/etc...It was better several years ago when no one knew about it before they made it a promo..
