Backpacks in the parks: what do you do with them?

Hey, I have what may seem like a stupid question. On my past trips to the parks, I either had my yougest DD in a stroller, so we put all our junk underneath, or else everyone just stuffed his and her pants/ packs full of stuff.

This time, I'm thinking of taking a small backpack to put things in (not valuables). But then I thought, "hey, what will I do with it when I go on the rides?"

So, I thought I'd ask here. What do you do with your backpack when you go on rides?

You can take it with you. I always take my camera on all the rides and I have a large camera bag full of lenses and stuff. There is either a storage compartment to store it in right in front of you or you can wrap it around your feet. My husband also carries a large backpack onto the rides (full of all our stuff for the kids and souverniers, etc.) and has no trouble with it.

I brought my backpack to the parks back when I was there in December/January to hold my camera, jacket, etc and I had no problems with it at all. There was room for it on every ride I went on whether it was in a space they provided or just on the floor of the car in front of me.

I'll throw in my 2 cents. I had a rather large backpack that held a camera, snacks, sunscreen, my wifes glasses, small souvenirs, etc. and kept it on my lap or between my legs (wonder what response that phrase will generate) on most of the rides. We had virtually no trouble at all. If there was a ride that my wife did not ride, she would hold onto it. With kid swap, you could pass it off as necessary as well.

on rides like ToT and RnRC, I usually just put my backpack on the floor of the vehicle and put one of my legs through the straps so I can't lose it... easilly. On rides like Mission: Space and Soarin' they have compartments for you to store your stuff.

No trouble in Disney but Universal,Busch Gardens, and Sea World will make you put your bags in a locker for certain rides.Busch Gardens will allow a pack.

Just be sure to have your wife carry the backpack for you. :lookaroun

Kidding! Kidding!

Put your leg through it on rides and you will have no problems.

You shouldnt have a problem with a small backpack, but travel light for your own sanity...you are going to be doing a lot of walking! :lookaroun

I took one that doubled as a diaper bag / camera bag - a real nice big one and got all sorts of nice little nooks and crannies and I ended up with them all filled. Nice and tired was I. Also, I found that the large bad did not fit well in some ride cars with me.

I strongly suggest a small one and if you are going on a water ride, maybe keep a ponco to cover it when your riding so it does not get soaked.

Have you thought about getting a ROLLING backpack? That's what we did on our first non-stroller trip. It was wonderful... your shoulders will get tired with a regular backpack... but not if it rolls along behind you. Just a thought...

Rolling bags/coolers technically are not allowed in the parks, but people seem to find a way to get them in.

Frankly, if youre brining so much stuff that you need something that rolls, you're brining too much stuff in. Its Disneyworld. You dont need a sherpa or a mountain guide, really....
