Backlot Tour Closing?

Hi All,

According to Disney's Website, there are "No times available" for Backlot tour beginning on July 13 2014. Is this part of the closures that are rumored for DHS? There are dates listed for 7/12, but then none through any of the dates listed (December)

Why? There is nothing in the Backlot tour anyway. Close it down and build something worthwhile.

I was joking about the sad state that the park is in more than anything.

I'd love to see them close down Backlot and do something with that area, but seeing as they won't even go ahead on Star Wars, I doubt we will see any movement in this area anytime soon.

I'm not sure why they even have this. It's a huge waste of space, time, gas and Rocketeer props.

Didn't they just refurbish this ride in Jan. I can't imagine that they would close it in the middle of July, I agree the ride is old and out of date but it holds a lot of people, we rode it last summer and I was surprised how full it was,

Yes, it had a two month refurb in January. It actually closes for refurb pretty much every January.

Yes and especially when the CM tour guide forgot what the props were!! On our tour in April we went past some stuff and he said he couldnt remember what they were and that it would come back to him!! Im not kidding!!

What are you talking about? They haven't had actual CM's doing the narration on the tour in years. It's all pre-recorded.

I don't remember any information Backlot Tour on closing this year outside the refurbishment already mentioned unless this is a cost cutting measure that Drew, WDW1974, Dave, Martin, and Lee don't know about.

It wouldn't make any sense for Backlot Tour being closing getting replace by an attraction at this time since Cars Land was scrapped. While there are plans for Star Wars Land, they are not supposed to be going to Streets of America.

They still have this because TDO wants to be tight on money for theme park lands, or new attractions. Burbank can be blamed on this. I said Burbank because they do have a say on attractions also.

The Backlot Tour made sense at one time, but it was years ago.
