Yes it is quick service.Isn't that the food place? The ride is the back lot tour?
Oh no. Where are all the people that ride that ride going to go???
Pretty easy to close a quick serve on the fly, as there are no ADRs. And closing that to put in a Mos Eisley Cantina (or other Star Wars themed idea -- a ride was suggested as a consideration in one blog article) would be a relatively quick addition that could open up in the shorter term.
On that note, we may get a hint of plans for the SOA if Mama Melrose stops taking reservations.
Been told today backlot express will be closing in september, makes sense being d23 is an august and to make schedule closing things a month later.
HA! I always questioned the naming of that place. Why not name "The Studio Catering Co." as "The Backlot Express" since it's right across from the Backlot Tour?
I'd hate to be a member of Mangement and lose my wookiee fur! (imitating Chewbacca growl )Mangement
Backlot Express is next to the Jedi Training Academy. We always ate here for the refillable sodas. If it is the place by backlot tour I actually enjoy what I got there before. If it is the place by Star Tours I don't remember anything special about their selections, wouldn't be missed.
Either is a possibility to close if any of the plans talked about actually get implemented.
Don't know why...but I never liked that place. It always seemed totally uninviting.Backlot Express is next to the Jedi Training Academy. We always ate here for the refillable sodas.
Cantina is slated melrose with the current proposal.
I like Mama Melrose's. One of the few table service places left that served good food without the insane price tag.
We would sit in their patio area and watch JTA. Having a soda and a free refill with our meal plus a free refill to go was worth the workshop theming for us. Especially when eating the Redhot Buffalo nuggets. ( My mouth's on fire Ricky Bobby!)Don't know why...but I never liked that place. It always seemed totally uninviting.
