Background Music Change in Liberty Square

Oddly enough, the Liberty Square BGM was probably what bothered me the most on my last trip in August. Very happy to hear the old loop is back, thanks for the update!

Slightly different topic -- was there also a recent change in the music in Frontierland? I realized at MNSSHP that they were playing the theme songs to Old Yeller and Swamp Fox and then also heard the same music this past Thursday as well. I don’t know if this is new music (I do remember "On Top of Old Smokey" or "On Top of Spaghetti" as we sing it ... LOUDLY) or if I just never noticed these songs before.

Same here. I remember walking through and thinking "somthing's not quite right." It took me a while to realize it was the BGM. I really wonder why the imagineers thought the JPS music would be better.

Oh well, now my favourite land is now perfect. :D

Oh those have always been there. I know because the old yeller music would play in the BGM for the Walt Disney World Explorer video game.

I actually think that the Sousa stuff would fit better over in Epcot or on Main Street.

Liberty Square is actually my favorite part of the park and I agree that the old BGM should come back and John Phillip should march himself somewhere else.

If I'm not mistaken, there already are a couple Sousa tracks in the Main Street music loop.

They must be rotating all of the music, because I was there last night and I heard the marches while eating a funnel cake. Or maybe they are (as radio people say) dayparting it? Maybe during the day playing the traditional time period music, and in the evening the more upbeat marches. I dunno...

See...this is why I love this forum...you are like, my people!

Background music may seem like such a small thing...but it so isn't. Just look at all the responses to this thread!

I tried to explain to someone recently why the music you may not be paying attention to is one of the most important things for creating the right atmosphere and immersive experience.
And they Just. Didn't. Get. It.

And I was also not fond of the sousa marches, making it seem like one chaotic cacophany of 4th of July madness.
I am relieved to hear that there is a new (old)loop!

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I was just thinking about this. Was the loop ever fixed, or is the music still Sousa-cal?

I have to agree that the Sousa stuff might have been out of place...but I did like it. Not integral to my enjoyment of Liberty Square, though. Okay with switching back.

I wish they'd do more Sousa music for the 3rd & 4th of July fireworks.
