Baby Souvenir Ideas

Hi Everyone!

I need some opinions on what to do here......

My husband and I will be visiting WDW here next month. Our baby nephew was born in May of this year and he won't be taking his first trip until next year (he's still a little too young, in the opinion of mom and dad! :)

That being said, I wanted to bring him back the best disney souvenirs I could find. Obviously, his auntie is a huge Disney fan and I want to get him hooked on it too right from the start :) This will be much easier when I can search the parks, but for those of you who have been there recently, is there any unique and special must have Disney souvenir item that I need to be on the look out for? It doesn't have to be a baby item....I was maybe thinking of starting him a pin collection and giving it to him when he's old enough to start trading. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!! :)

The "My Disney Bear" is adorable and had Mickey pawprints on its feet... But I don't know if they're readily available anymore. :(

There is a whole "baby" section to most Disney souvin-ear shops with baby outfits, socks, hats and baby-friendly toys to bring home. Not to mention a whole flock of stuffed animals that can instantly be any baby's best friend. That way he can be already using it and wouldn't have to wait till he was old enough not to choke on a pin or something.

happy shopping

We have found lovely ornaments at the Christmas Store in DTD. They will personalize them for you as well. They have VERY cute baby themed ones. In 2006, my ds (was 11 months at the time) found a blanket/ Stuffed Mickey combo that he still sleeps with every night. It is super soft and really cute.

We are total Disney freaks too, so we bought our son like everything we could. We bought him a onesie before he was born and also Baby's First Christmas ornament (one in pink and blue since we didn't know what we were having), blue Mickey rattle (He's almost 2 and still likes it!), Mickey winter hat and mittens (actually bought on ebay since it was cheaper and new, but still was availlable from Disney), My 1st Mickey t-shirt, My 1st Mickey (blue sleeping Mickey and you can pull the pacifier out and it sings a lullaby), My 1st Disney Bear (baby Disney bear dressed up like...duh! a baby), Disney Bear, a blue stuffed Mickey (he takes it to bed with him EVERY night, talks with him and calls him "newman" which is how he says Mickey....don't know where that came from!), of course Mickey ears, bibs....I'm sure there are others, but I just can't think!

That's a list anyway of what we've bought for our son. They aren't "collectables" but all were things that he was able to enjoy now. Before we took him to Disney, I also bought a bunch of WDW outfits from other people who had bought them in the parks. They paid the high prices, I paid mostly 99 cents! He was still able to look like a lot of the other children there without me going broke.

Oh, we also bought him a wooden sign to put on the door to his room that says "Tyler's Room" and has a picture of Mickey and Pluto on it. Sooooo cute! We bought it in DTD. He looks at it every morning and points it out to us.

They just came out with Baby's First Christmas stockings too!

You can always get a Disney 'Baby's First Christmas' ornament :xmas: too!

As a lover of all things Christmas I think this is a perfect idea!
Also at the World of Disney store in DTD there is a baby area and they sell little mini Mickey Mouse t-shirts (the Classic Mickey) in blue and pink, that are always in fasion as far as I'm concerned and a great gift for any baby...

On my last trip I got my at the time unborn niece a plush baby Mickey rattle that she keeps in her crib now. I got my other niece who was 2 at the time one of the princess bedtime stories books from BBB before I went to CRT. I took a picture while Cinderella, Snow White, Jasmine, Aurora and Belle each signed the book, and then waited on line to have Ariel sign it. My mom and my sister both thought that was like the sweetest thing and my niece was so bright eyed and thought it was amazing. Maybe you can do something like that for your nephew. He may not understand it now, but in the future it will be a great thing to talk to him about and show him.

A pair of Mickey sunglasses makes for cute pictures. A toddler Mickey plastic bowl, plate, and cup set and placemat is always a sure winner. The Christmas ornament is a nice keepsake.

definitely make sure to go home with a Baby's First Christmas ornament. My son got one, have to get 2 for my daughter's, the one we originally got we would have used for our twins, but we used it for our first daughter that passed, so don't want the same one. Hope they got something new in the way of girl ones, not really 1st Christmas specific. Our 1st daughter's is the Minnie as a ballerina, our son's was the specific 1st Christmas since we liked the rocking horse with Mickey on it.

This gonna be a super old bump, but my BFF is expecting her first (due in November) and I was wondering if there happened to be any cool Star Wars baby souviners?

put a photo of him in a shadow box and surround it with pins representing that year and then you can do one each trip and when he's old enough to pick his own pins you'll see different themes for those years and have a pic of him at that age.
