Good Morning Land Lubbers!.. After reading this mornings review in Disney food blog. Captain Jacks at downtown got a awesome report and the pics of the food looked really good, especially the clambake. Anyway,I can count on one hand how many times Ive read any reports from this establishment. So have any of you been here recently,or in the past. How was your experience ?;)

I'm going to have to read that blog (usually do at work to keep me sane), Cap'n Jacks doesn't seem to have a very good reputation, maybe it was given a rehab or something?
A refurb is unlikely at this point, as Cap'n Jacks is slated to close as part of the DTD transition to Disney Springs.
Enjoy it (or not) while you can.

 Wow... a good review? that's kind of shocking... Cap'n Jacks has always received such poor reviews, I've never bothered to even think about eating there... I think a lot of people feel that way, so maybe things have changed and no one noticed.. But I'm heading over to disney food blog to see this for myself!:D

Well, in 2009, we enjoyed our meal there! We watched the water crafts and boat launches. Our waitress was so sweet- she gave the boys free glowing Buzz Light Years ( and they still work today!).:D
Overall, the food was OK. It's not really a place that I have to go to again, but I'm sad to see it go.:( Not sure if I'm all "on board" yet w/ this "Disney Springs" thing.

We went this past June with no expectations of the restaurant and all six of us enjoyed it. DH and I both had the crab cakes with asparagus and they was good. I guess I'm in the minority of those who enjoy Captain Jacks.

now were they as good as a Maryland Crab Cake? I think the ambiance would be good...dining on the waterfront...after a few drinks...I'd have a little clemency for the food...

I don't know if I've ever had a true Maryland Crab Cake, because I doubt the ones from the freezer section of my grocery store count
