lol...no way...every crab cake I've ever had that wasn't in Maryland was more filler than crab...I stopped trying them
I can tell the difference between a crab cake and a Maryland crab cake, but that's only been because we've eaten a lot of crab cakes during Lent this year. I honestly can't remember which kind we had at Cap'n Jack's.

Airport Nicks has some great Maryland crab cakes, all crab, and they are in Maryland. The ones in WDW are far from that style, with more breading, but you cn still find a tasty one. The best one we found was at Kona Cafe. Back to the subject of Captain Jacks. The ship was sinking and now has finally sank. Ahoy mate!

Did not care for Capt. Jacks at all, food was meh. And I think everyone in my party thought it would have something to do with PotC given the name. Oh well.

Not good at all , thank god it's closing. Ugghhh!

Amen!

That place has been around since I was a tiny little girl back when it was Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village.
It was a boring, lack luster place and hasn't changed much over the years for the better. A poor attempt and trying to duplicate the Northeast specialties and a poorer stab at the great fish dishes available back then up and down the coast and bay. And they competed with the excellent Empress Lilly. Now that WAS great dining.

Hungry a few years ago begrudgingly we went in as it had ADR's available and I all these years later hated it even more.

Why in God's Green Earth Disney let Captains stay and booted Chef Mickey's down there is beyond me, they could have put Chef Mickey's in Captain Jacks and Rainforest could have still opened. Dang that Chef Mickey's had fabulous food.

I've never actually had a chance to eat at Captain Jacks, but would like to stop there if it's still open on my next trip, maybe for dessert and coffee or something, just to say i've been there before it closes. Does anyone know exactly when it will close? I'm planning my trip for late October/early November.
