Lets see if i can answer all the questions in one post..hehe

They dont shed at all

They are Good with Kids (well..it all depends on the kids actually)

They dont really "glide"..its more like they fall...with wings..lol..its not gracefull at all...but it keeps them from getting hurt when they jump off of high places.

They do resemble flying squrills as far as how they have "wings"..but thats where the similarities end.

She eats mostly fruits and vegtables..as well as crickets..meal worms..and some other kinda gross stuff that isnt REALLY necessary for her survival...oh..and she LOVES peanut butter..but only in small amounts ;)

hhehe..nah..she only barks when she is stuck..or wants attention...its the most annoying sound on earth..so you get up real fast to make a glider happy..hehe..

..they also have 2 other noises besides the bark...

"Crabbing"...which is the noise they make when angry or threatened..is a VERY loud noise (suprisingly loud coming from such a small creature) that is literally impossible to describe. It will scare you away tho...its not fun.

and they make a hissing noise when either hungry..or in the presence of another Glider (sorta like glider speak)...

Ah..well..you have 2 options...the good and the bad...

the BAD...exotic pet stores...overpriced...and very traumatic for a glider..

the GOOD..a glider breeder...they are all over..and they usually hand train the glider for you in advance so you have one less thing to worry about...

they range from 200-400 dollars depending on who you get it from..

Why are they illegal in most states? They don't look dangerous.

Im not entirely sure..but I think it has something to do with the states climate and their ability for their local animal control to "handle" any type of situations that may arise...although a glider really isnt a violent animal and its chances of hurting a human are slim to none....its just a weird law I guess.

I'll look into it more and get back to you when i get a "decent" answer ;)

Would they not be illegal to import them or something?

Well..in all honesty...how would they CATCH anyone with an illegal glider? They are small..generally quiet animals that dont go outdoors...

I believe they are illegal in many areas because they are not regarded as domesticated animals and there are a lot of irresponsible people out there.

I was just wondering if it was like tortoises in the UK. They're illegal to import, but ones that are already here are OK.

And the people who would try to smuggle them in tend to go through customs with 50 of them stuffed down their pants!

I want a glider!!!!!!!!!! But I do have a cute animal of my own...

My toy poodle, Benji. I adopted him 3 years ago. His age is unknown, but he is super healthy and loving his new life! (A woman dropped him off at my other two dog's veterinarian and sai that she wanted to put him to sleep because he had a bad case of diarea (spelling?). So, my mom and I took him in, and my other poodles at home love him...)

She is very VERY playfull (for example..at present time she is climbing up my leg..to my shoulder..and then jumping off...and then repeating the process)...I dont know what i'd do without her..shes the coolest little creature on earth..and she loves me.

I could never get rid of her..in fact..i want to get her a mate so i can start breeding them...Im responcible enough that id only sell them to "SERIOUS" owners ;)

Oh my gosh...you could have just gotten me in trouble, lol. We hafta stay quiet (I'm at school right now) and I started laughing at that and everyone turned to me thinking I was nuts...Thankfully my teacher isn't here, hehe
