Just a few thoughts on where I think this is going....and they kind of follow the comic line.
  • Loki and Heimdall are dead. Thanos killed them hardcore in the beginning. I will be sad with no more Tom Hiddleston...
  • Gamora isn't dead. She was captured by the Soul Stone. This explains the scene later where Thanos shows up and Kid Gamora asks him if he did it. She's there in the little girls body. She will be restored by others...
  • Nebula tricks Thanos to get the Infinity Gauntlet. She's still alive and I think with the family ties wold make the most sense.
  • In the comics Adam Warlock plays a huge part. He has barely been introduce in GotG 2 so he won't show. I think Captain Marvel will take his role on in the next one.
  • Ant Man and the Wasp will have a little bit going on. Probably post credits scene I'm guessing.
  • Captain Marvel in February will play a HUGE role. This is her origin story how she got her powers. And I bet we get some flash forwards either in the move or once again post credits.
  • Once Nebula grabs the gauntlet she will use the Time Stone to rewind the day and restore all the heroes. They will gather. Thanos will be defeated (but not die). Some Avengers will die for real....Captain and Iron Man are my guess....since their contracts are up.
That's all I have for now...repeated viewings are a must with this one!

“[Characters] don't have the same amount [of screentime] in each movie,” said Markus. “They only get as much as the story demands for them. You might feel, I could've used 15% more Captain America there, but, like, you'd be riffing as opposed to telling a story. So I think over the span of two movies, everyone gets exactly the amount of screentime they need and deserve.”
Added McFeely, “You may walk away from movie one and go, Well, I could've used more of the character. Odds are, you'll get a lot of that character in the next movie.”

Obviously, they had not seen Black Panther when writing/filming Infinity War so the Black Panther Cast helped them out on set.

"Arguably the most effective piece of marketing in the massive promotional blitz for Infinity War has been the TV ad (which you can view above) in which T’Challa leads the Wakandan forces in a war chant against Thanos’s mounting horde. And it was all the actors’ idea.
“Yeah, we did not write any chants,” said McFeely. “[The actors] showed up on set and said, ‘We do this thing,’ and he goes, ‘Yibambe!’ And everybody went, ‘Holy crap!’ My hair stood on end. ‘Do that!’ It was really like Wakanda came to the movie.”

They also talk about folding in the GOTG and Doctor Strange who they also had never written for.

I figured it would have a cliffhanger but I wasn't expecting it to be this big of one. I'm guessing/hoping we get some ties to infinity war in antman and ms marvel. I like what they did with Thanos. I like the parallels between him and Cap. In civil war Cap felt the things he was doing were for the greater good and no matter what anyone said, he stuck to his guns. Thanos has that same vibe. Its no just a I'm a crazy bad guy! Kill everything!!!
It's not so much a cliffhanger as it is us, laying at the bottom of the cliff, like Gamorra after her "dad" threw her over to get the soul stone.

And Thanos' motivation seems to be "I want to kill off half the universe so I can have a quiet spot to sit for a while." Didn't help me appreciate the previous two hours and 33 minutes...

He thinks he just save the universe and he's finally accomplished what he's been trying to do for God know how long. He's very satisfied with himself.

Just an FYI all those people that turned to ash are all in the Soul Stone along with Gamora make of that what you will. strange give over his stone was the only option open to them and I can guess it all hinges on Tony being alive and possibly his new nanotech and maybe the help of Ant-Man and Wasp, I can see the next movie with Nebula somehow getting access (or someone else) to the Gauntlet and going back to a specific point to stop Thanos even as far back as when Tony was able to draw blood.

Indeed you see him sit down looking at the sun and starting to smile knowing everything he had set out to do was now done, obviously it has also cost him everything in the process, Gamora the rest of the Children of Thanos etc.

Based on set photos I'm guessing time travel or alternate realities will be happening.

It could also revolve around Ant-Man and Wasp being able to travel in the quantum realm (their upcoming movie will go into this) thus being able to travel to pretty much any point in time they needed, one of the reasons why I think they made a big deal of Thanos mentioning Tony had managed to draw 1 drop of blood.

I’ll be really curious to see the final breakdown for screentime in this movie (someone will probably figure it out in a week or two).

Pretty sure I posted this elsewhere, but these are the breakdowns for Avengers, Age of Ultron, and Civil War:

Avengers

Captain America: 37:42
Iron Man: 37:01
Black Widow: 33:35
Bruce Banner/Hulk: 28:03
Thor: 25:52
Hawkeye: 12:44

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Captain America: 50:25
Iron Man: 45:34
Black Widow: 33:07
Quicksilver: 26:43
Bruce Banner/Hulk: 23:55
Scarlet Witch: 20:59
Hawkeye: 19:46
Thor: 14:18
Vision: 8:41

Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: 36
Iron Man: 33:45
Bucky: 21
Black Widow: 11:45
Falcon: 10:30
Black Panther: 10:15
Scarlet Witch: 10
Spider-Man: 8:30
Vision: 7:15
War Machine: 6
Hawkeye: 4:45
Ant-Man: 4:45

My guess is that Tony will be the technical lead, with Spider-Man, Strange, Thor, and the Guardians having more screen time than those on Earth

If you are interested I posted a couple things in the A:4 thread under spoiler tags that may show where they are going to.

Sorry, but I'm just getting "Hey, all you beings, get off my lawn!" -- fulfilled. They're finally off his lawn.

That said... there's the time stone and the gantlet mold still intact at Nidavellir. I have no doubts we'll see plenty of characters returning during the next movie. On a side note, this film kinda gives the moviemaking term "dissolve" a whole new meaning, eh?

The effects of everyone turning to ash was pretty damn amazing knowing quite a bit about CGI etc I notice this kind of stuff, I cant really see them making another Gauntlet tbh I more see Nebula either getting it herself or somehow managing to manipulate Thanos into using it and going back in time. Of course as I said it could also be Ant-Man involved somehow as I said earlier.
