Do you think this (I mean, in addition to being cheap, of course) is sort of out of respect to the IOA Spider-Man team? I mean, all of WDI and Uni Creative employees are colleagues. They don't see themselves as being at war. And some of them have traded places between the companies.
In other words, if Scott Trowbridge is considered to be 'important' enough to be in charge of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, then is he also important enough to say in meetings, "Hey, IOA Spider-Man is still my baby and I'm proud of it." And perhaps all the other imagineers nod and say, "Oh of course, it's a classic. We're going a different direction with Spider-Man at our parks. No worries."
