AVATAR land construction progress

i just cant see how that is possible...both of those rides are so intertwined

The only "intertwining" we know of is the boat ride going through the corner of the Soarin' ride in the original plans. It seems that they are just sharing parts of the same show building but you won't see one from the other.

but i find it hard to believe that construction will be going on right next to a ride...this is different that NFL they re literally right next to each other sharing that mtn range

There is a component of the boat attraction that shares the show building with the simulator. So far we have not heard indications that everything will open together, we have heard the opposite.

I think we should expect it to open in stages as I honestly can not remember a single multifaceted project Disney has done in their nearly 60 year theme park history that has not opened in phases or with planned expansion already started or at least on the books.

Carsland opened all at once.
I see Avatar as similar to Carsland from a construction standpoint. It's isolated from the rest of the park and only has 2 rides (3 for Catsland). It makes no sense to open the main ride but have construction walls around the rest of the land.

I know it's been rumored to open in phases or the boat ride canceled completely, but I still think some of that is just "rooting for failure".

i always took the opening in phases as Night time safari, rivers of light 2016, pandora 2017

but if im wrong im wrong no big deal...i do think there is zero reason to open in phases
I do not care for phased openings, but there are plenty of reasons to do them. The number one reason being they do not want to have an attraction paid for, ready to go and sitting idle when it could be entertaining guests and adding to the parks capacity.

You know, building both rides fast enough so they're ready at the same time is another way to go, but that's crazy talk. Making us wait longer for what can clearly be finished at the same time with enough work put behind it is the absolute best way to go.

That is not always practical or possible.

They have about 2 years of construction left to go, right? If it's not possible for them to do it in that amount of time in an area of the park with absolutely no guests walking around unlike NFL then Disney really does have problems.
plus this project is away from any crowds so they literally have nothing stopping them unlike NFL where 7DMT was right in the middle

the companies are contracted to get the job done at an agreed upon time. there is no 'faster' or 'slower'. the job is completed to the contractor and contractees' timetables that were agreed upon in advance.
