Availability of Fans at Pop Century (Odd question I know)

This is such a random question but last time we visited I hauled a plug in fan with us. I'm unable to sleep if I don't have the background noise of a fan (plus it's typically warmer than I like in the rooms). I didn't necessarily want to take one with us again when we visit in October and was wondering if the resorts (Pop Century to be more specific) would be able to provide one. Thanks!

Have you tried a smaller travel fan? I am the same way as you and always have to have a fan with me. I bought this one for my first Disney trip http://www.amazon.com/O2COOL-NEW-Ba...TF8&qid=1432921108&sr=8-6&keywords=Travel+fan and it fits very nicely in my suitcase. I have used it ever since then. It's just as powerful as a normal fan too.

Not sure about them being available at resorts though.

I brought one a little larger than that last time but it plugged in. I just don't want to have to lug one around if it's something I can easily request at the resort.

The one is plug or battery and I totally get you. I am curious to know if they are available as well. xD

There are many phone apps that provide fan sounds, white noise, waves on the beach, rain, etc, I use them all of the time when sleeping in hotel rooms. And there may still be a way to over-ride the thermostat in a value resort room to make it a bit cooler (moderates and up have ceiling fans).

I don't know about the availability of fans, sorry.

Yeah overriding the thermostat will be the first thing I do when I walk into the room, still an actual fan would be nice.

I'm pretty sure Pop won't be able to provide a fan. I know the deluxe hotels have ceiling fans, but I don't think any of the hotels have plug in fans to loan out.

I understand the need for a fan! I need the noise and the circulating air or I can't sleep. I know most of it, for myself, is psychological, however I do need it! I used to feel so embarassed carrying my plug-in fan to my resort room, but I don't anymore. When it comes down to sleep or no sleep... getting my sleep wins.

I have forgotten my fan in the past (as recently as this year) and I can tell you, they don't have any for loan/rent in PC. In a pinch you can do a combo of what others have said. Use a lil fan on your nightstand and then put in ear plugs as well. Sometimes I don't do ear plugs though because there are kids in the room and I want to hear that 1am "I need to potty!!" call. The "white noise" apps are never quite right for me, but you can give them a try. I know it's not the same, but better than nothing. While you're at home you might start trying to fall asleep with it to adjust your body/mind before your resort stay. Hey, if you need your fan... you need your fan! I say bring it, even though it's a pain. Sleep at Disney is worth it!

I find the rooms at the allstars a bit warm too without a fan running at night. I pack one of those small clip on fans that I bought at walmart or target that I bring right in my suitcase. I just clip it right on the table between the beds and at least for me it's enough. We also keep the curtains closed all day. Other people have told us that they've bought a balloon to leave in the room so that the a/c sensor thinks someone is up moving around in the room and therefore kicks on regularly. Don't know how true that is as I haven't done it myself but we did have the front desk as the Grand Floridian tell us about the motion detection part of the a/c when they first switched over to using them one day when we came back to a room that we'd had the a/c set low but the room was warm as heck.

I have done this. With my prime membership I paid around $10 and left the fan there when I checked out. For me it was money well spent.
It might feel wasteful, but at that price, they're basically disposable. Even if Disney did rent them, it would probably cost more than $10 per trip. If you have a car, you can also grab a cheap one from Wal-Mart. I got a 20" box fan for my house for $17 recently.

Seconding an app for your tablet or smartphone! I used to have to sleep with a fan, but found a great app called Sleep Machine and switched immediately. I highly recommend it as it has a large library of sounds and is very easy to use.

Thirding the app approach! It's made such a huge difference in our travel. Travel-sized fans are always too quiet to work well for me. The apps have lots of choices and you can adjust the volume however you want.
