I think Disney should team up with Elon Musk and change a lot of things in the parks. Switch to Tesla electric vehicles for Autotpia and then have a Tesla store in DS. Over at Epcot switch from HP to SpaceX for Mission Space and update the ride with the Dragon spacecraft. If they want to get rid of Ellen, replace it with a Hyperloop thrill ride. Finally turn one side of Innoventions into an infomercial for everything Elon Musk has worked on, from electric cars, spaceships, batteries, solar panels, plenty of futuristic ideas for Future World.

Hyperloop ? Loading and unloading would consume more time than the any ride that would fit in that footprint could last.

The speedway was great in the 70s and 80s. Now, not so much. Kids like it, but there is so much more that could go there. It is a yesteryear ride in Tomorrowland. It simply doesn't fit and it takes up a ton of valuable space. The space is the same size of SM and RnRC. There is a ton of things that could easily go into that space. A Tomorrowland themed hypercoaster would be perfect. MK lacks thrill rides. SM was a thrill ride in the 70s. BTMRR was a thrill ride in the 80s. 7DMT is FAR from a thrill ride.

I agree that the Speedway needs to get some sort of upgrade. My niece and I rode it in September and while there was still a significant line, it has kind of lost its appeal. Would they be able to modify it in such a way to upgrade the gasoline engines and turn it into something like they have out in DL with Cars?

I personally love it. I think it has a certain charm to it. WDW already got rid of some of their classic rides like Snow White, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, and Toontown so I feel like this is one of the only ones remaining. I hope they keep it.

Sorry, I should have elaborated. The new DL engines are not hybrid (my mistake) but ultra low emission with CARB and EPA certification.
I wish they weren't as smelly. Personally, I love Autopia at DL, but I would love to see electric cars that sounded like the old Jetson's cartoons. Now that would be a great combo!

Well....how about moving the TL tent city to the Speedway green spaces? CM will drive you up to your lovely cabana- front door service!

So since Hong Kong is axing their Autopia, why not send all their stuff to MK and finally get our Speedway the upgrade it NEEDS?
If not, tear that sucker out. Huge prime real estate. If they aren't afraid to trash it in Hong Kong or Japan, why so much reservation about doing it to the worst version...the MK Speedway?

This ride was so cool when I was a kid. Tried it once as a adult and ugh such a bore.I thought turning it into a Wreck it Ralph sugar rush theme with faster cars would have been cool.

Because the lines are still 60 minutes long.
Because of garbage capacity.

They could build two or three big attractions in this plot and greatly increase park capacity. I've never understood the love for this attraction. Even as a kid I never thought it was that great. I thought Mr Toads Wild Ride was a better car ride.
