Nice pics, but are these tents permenant? I guess the machines are with the infrastructure involved, but next to the T&TC`s structure it looks like someone is camping!

I would think that they are temporary, but I cant really say for sure. They arent just your average pop-up in 5 minute tent, that is why I am unsure. If anyone's going to WDW today, I guess you could ask if it is temproary or permenant.

those look like the ticket machines at the train stations all up and down the lines on metro north (the trains that run into nyc)

i dont think they can get wet, so i would assume the tents are permenent

Nice idea, I'm suprised WDW didn't install them before now. I doubt I will ever get to use them, as here in the UK we have our own special tickets, and I have always pre-purchased. I'm guessing its just the same tickets they sell at the booths.

perhaps this is just a test to see if they really work.. then construct a perminent/perminant structure for them... VS.. the temporary/permanent structure they have now...... (bgt & universal had them before disney at their main parks... but at least disney is using them now....)

With as much confusion as people are having with the MYW ticketing system it seems like there would be a lot of people getting tickets they don't want since there is no CM to help them.

The test was carried out at Typhoon Lagoon for the last couple of years. This new system will be at all parks and is permanent.

To be honest, I've seen at least one CM patrolling the lines at each ticket booth in the morning. There we're also two CMs stationed at these automated ticket vending machines this morning. They pass out pamphlets, answer questions, and do other things to ensure a smooth purchasing process.

Thanks, that is good to know...

I guess the next automated item would be Guest Check-In at the Resorts...
Walk up, punch in your reservation number and swipe your credit card and out pop your room keys with a map showing you where your room is located.

I think they'll keep the personal service in the hotels, and I hope so because when I finally get to stay in one I don't want a machine! Could be wrong ofcourse!

I was being sarcastic, Disney is know for Customer service with Guest getting questions answer from a smiling CM. It is a same that that has to change to save a buck or too.

Next thing we know.... they will install the auto ticket machines at the resorts to cut down on waits?? (and it owuld be next to the main desk so they wouldn't have to hire no more than one new persion for that)
