This is not a difficult concept to grasp, folks.

But, it is the first time Disney has announced a soft opening--that is what confuses people. The basic question is "why announce it if the ride won't be open", and we know that a soft opening, in the usual sense, never guarantees that a ride will be open. So, perhaps Disney has redefined the term "soft opening" on this one--we will not know till August, of course.

Or could it just be something as daft, as having predicted and planned for an Oct opening, things moved much more quickly, and they made up for previous delays. Being comitted to the Oct grand opening rather than have it doing little they announce a "soft open" allowing a boost for the park and a bit of backside cover should things go wrong.

Just my take on it.
