I agree, and I know nothing of any replacement plans, but if they are concerned about sticking 40 people on a skiff, imagine the concern of sticking 300 on a riverboat.

This is Disney. If it closes, there's a chance it closes for good. And gets replaced with nothing soon.

CoP went from seasonal post 9/11, back to full time, but I think that's an exception to the norm.

While Tom Sawyer Island exists in Tokyo and California, the Florida design is unique. It would be awful to loose it.

Sure they have! These photos are mine.. less than a year old. AA’s workingn in the fort, both mills turning. Everything was looking good as far as I could tell.

That’s great to see. I do enjoy that area - especially the atmosphere around that quick service location. A good way to remove yourself from the crowds and relax by the water

I have to agree... During my last trip to Disney, I went to TSI for the first time since I was like 7 years old and I was surprised at how nice and clean it was. I wasn't expecting to find any AAs! Pleasant surprise.

Keeping it closed when the park opens does worry me, though. It COULD become unmaintained. Like the Wonders of Life pavilion. Especially since it's such a pain to get to.

It’s just an area to go hangout and explore for awhile. Not much to maintain, and the restaurant doesn’t substantially change the experience. I’d rather have that with no wait than build another lame ride that’ll get an hour long wait.

It has been said quite a few times but none of the parks are going to be operating all of their attractions at first, so this wouldn’t be a surprise. I’m sure the list will continue to grow.

It’s probably safe to assume anything that cannot guarantee 6’ of distance will be temporarily closed.

I’m not sure anything in Disney can guarantee 6ft at all times. It’ll be interesting to see how this works or if it’s more an attempt at things to appear safe

Yeah, it has gotten some long overdue love in recent years, it's just a logistical nightmare. If it did not require crammed skiffs to get over there, maybe more thought would have gone into opening it. But between the crammed skiffs and the overall size of it, it would be insane to properly staff.

As sad as TSI closure is, I may have something even worse tomorrow. Waiting on confirmation from two people though. I think it has legs and makes sense, just wanna get ducks in a row before I say anything.

Yep. I was gonna say Disney Temporary = Real Life Permanent in many cases. TSI closing would make me very sad. It has that old school Disney feel, that je ne sais quoi. Let’s start an “open Aunt Polly’s” sit in and push in the opposite direction.

Closing TSI and replacing it with nothing may be the nail in the coffin for me. When nearly every non-spinner ride in the park is a 60+ minute wait during the day, you need non-ride things like TSI to keep guests occupied. I’ll just give more of my money to Silver Dollar City which offers a cave tour (a pretty good one) that’s complementary with admission.
