AudioAnimatronic Population

Can anyone give me an accurate number for the Walt Disney Audio Animatronic population. I would love to know; as a whole, by resort area and then by park if possible. I would also love to know how that population number has changed over time so if anyone has any historical data, that would be great too.

I tried to figure this out afewyears ago, but it can get a bit tricky with some of the figures....is the flea that pops up in ITTBAB an AA? But then you also have to think of some of which dinos in Dinosaur, animals at Big Thunder, dolls at small world. It could be a huge list but would love to see it!

As far as the change in AA population goes,

AK has lost some in the finale of the Safari and one in the river of the boat ride. Hopper and Flik are both AA figures in the Tree.

Studios - about the same until Star Tours opens to find out what happened there.

MK- Lost Timekeeper and Nine-Eye and gained 3 Jack Sparrows. Lost the Alien but gained Stitch.

Epcot - By far, the big loser. They lost all the ones in the original Imagination ride, WOL, Horizons, and World of Motion.

I guess this is what I am trying to find out. I am going to boil my question down to the Apple scene in SSE. Why is it that "The Woz" is a stationary figure? It looks ridiculous to show a technical diorama without much technology in it at all. I wanted to understand how many AA's exist that they could have created from old rides (not even building new ones=reduced expense to support what the update seamed to be all about) for this one specific figure. Why does it have to be stationary? I just do not get it!

If I had to guess, I'd say the World of Motion was the attraction that resulted in the biggest AA loss in Disney history (wikipedia lists it at 188 AAs). Horizons probably had over a hundred. The original JII had some, but not nearly the amount of these other two attractions. The Kitchen Kabaret and Food Rocks had a bunch.

As for the Magic Kingdom, the Mickey Mouse Review had between 75-100. Dreamflight had some. Mission to Mars had at least one in the pre-show (can't remember if the others moved). 20k Leagues had several. The Hall of Presidents has, of course, gained a few.

I'm specifically thinking of the two in the Japan scene, but it's been a long time, they might not have moved.

EDIT: Come to think of it, the dining car had one or two, too - I think.

I am pretty sure everything in there was static figures and projections. Where is Martin when we need him????

Dreamflight was great I might be one of the few, but I'll argue anyday that dreamflight was better than If You Had Wings. Even without any Audio Animatronics.

There has to be someone who can answer this question. I am sure Disney knows. It would be fun to make a statement that the number of AAs account for X% of the total Disney Employee population.

Apparently, Epcot's animatronics population - the dinosaurs at UoE, the hall of US presidents at American Adventure, and if countable, a forgotten, defunct Buzzy backstage deep inside WoL. It's sure as surprise going downhill.

I think AK should be easy with 1 exception:

Tough to be a bug - 2
Kilimanjaro - 1 (I guess)
Everest - 1 (even in a lesser mode)
Dinosaur is the big one Maybe around 15?

Never thought about it much but that seems low..

188 animatronics to one attraction. i bet that was a nightmare for maintenence.
i wonder how many splash mountain has? MK must have the biggest population with it's a small world, CoP, etc.
the great movie ride has a few also, including the wicked witch of the west; she's one of the oldest in the park isn't she? she must be good though; i thought she was a real person when i was younger!
