Attractions to skip for first timers?

Without knowing your guests,

At MK: Tiki Room, Swiss Family Robinson, the Steamboat(name?), Snow White

EPCOT: Maelstrom, Journey into Imagination, Nemo

DHS: Backlot tour

AK: Prime Evil Whirl. The more "zoo-like" aspects they could see at any local zoo?

At Universal & IOA:
Fear Factor, ET unless they are huge ET fans, Dr. Doom, Sinbad Show, Poseiden Show, Seuss Landing.

You probably already know that the main idea is to get there early and do the most popular attractions first. That leaves time later in the day for the rest and maybe the ones I named.

Honestly, at Universal, you don't have to skip anything. If you're doing one park per day over two days, you'll have plenty of time to take in everything. Depending on the crowd level, you maybe be able to ride everything multiple times.

For the Disney parks, if you're short on time:
MK: Tomorrowland Speedway, Aladdins Carpets
EPCOT: Universe of Energy (just because its very long)
DHS: Narnia, Animation Tour
AK: Dinorama

What's with all the hate for Journey Into Your Imagination?

Anyway, Ill list my skips

MK- Swiss Family Treehouse, Stitch's Great Escape (depends on the wait)
EPCOT- Captain EO
Hollywood Studios- Backlot Tour (again, depends on the wait)
Animal Kingdom- Hester and Chester's Dinorama

Your kidding right? Journey into your imagination is hands down the worst ride at WDW. My vote goes to ellens energy adventure. Whatever you do skip this attraction. It sucks and it takes 45 minutes of valuable time since your there for only 2 days

Hands down worst? I can name 5 rides worse than Journey Into Your Imagination. Is it the best ride in WDW? Absolutely not. However, the only reason it gets so much hate is bc its been refurbished 3 times and they shouldve left the way it was obviously. Its a walk-on attraction almost EVERY time my family has gone to WDW. Is it as exciting as Test Track? Definitely not; would I skip it even though its a walk-on? No bc the ride is good for what it is; its just not as good as EPCOTs other attractions.

We have gone frequently and these are the ones we still haven't done or didn't care for so they would be my suggestion to skip.

MK - Hall of presidents, Country Bear Jamboree
AK - Rafiki planet watch (didn't like)
Epcot - Captain EO (didn't like)
HS - All ok to see once.

AWW. I love The Hall of Presidents.

Not sure where the bad is in it.Our very first trip in 2007 with our grandson who was 4 had no clue what we were seeing. He was so cute, he said after it was all over.Grandmama that was really good. It is good to see what they can do with animatronics and watch all the little movements from each one of them is fascinating. Toe tapping finger tapping eye movements its all good and everyone should see it at least one time. Same with the American Experience. Very good.. There is alot to learn at Disney, you go to WS don't you. Then its all learning there as well. So I guess that park should not be done since its a learning experience.. I love it all, except Stitch's Ride..

Ya right. It is horrible! Ok maybe sounds dangerous is as bad, but that's the only argument I'll give you. It is a pathetic ride with absolutely zero magic to it. It's bad when I'd rather sit through stitches great escape before journey into your imagination. I mean have you ridden it lately? It is so bad! And my opinion is not skewed because of dreamfinder either. It is just an embarrassment to WDW and imagineering.

all awesome thoughts, i figure i should give a little more detail into the trip...

first off, i do know the swiss family tree house will be in renovation mode while im there, so thats a freebie.

there will be 8 of us total.

me-total disney freak/pro of the park :)
wife- close to my level
mom-close to my level
son- first timer will be 20 months when we go

best friend-27 year old (like me and my wife and his wife)- been once in 2000
his wife- newbie!
his mom- went in 2000
his son- first timer and will be 14 months when we go.

i usually dont even bother with parades but stay for shows.

the 4 20 somethings all love any type of ride, and the grandmas hate rides,so it works out that they are watching the little ones while we are on grown up rides. for stuff like small world and pirates we will all partake.

Your opinion is more like you sippin on haterade. If thats embarrassing to WDW, (which I dont get bc JIYI is only located in WDW) than Star Tours 2 must be just as pitiful is what you're basically saying.

Man for a very first time it would probably be nice to see anything possible, that said wonders of china in epcot, indycars in MK, and wildlife express train in AK.

What!? Was that English? Star tours 2 is great and it has great reviews. What the hell are you talking about?

I agree with Scuttle. The current Imagination ride doesn't just fail in comparison based on the original ride, it fails when judged on its own merits as well. The only things decent about it is the One Little Spark song, and the concept of the upside down room was kind of neat. Otherwise, it's by far the worst ride on property IMO. This mrg dude is the first person i've seen who defends it.

The ride literally felt to me like they got 10% done designing the thing and just gave up. Huge parts of it consists of totally blank and unthemed walls without any scenery or attempt at theming whatsoever. It's a mockery and a joke. Truly garbage. Even imagineers (including the great Tony Baxter) hate it with a passion.

I ride the new one nowadays for only one purpose- as a means to sit down for a few minutes and get out of the Florida sun. It never has a line (for good reason), so it's an easy pick. It's not enjoyable, but the best thing i can say about it is that it's long enough to cool down on. That's the only praise i can give it though, which is pathetic. It would be nice if it could both be a means to rest AND be a great attraction like the old one, like the many other rides at WDW. I really can't think of any worse rides. There could arguably be worse attractions, but in terms of a ride, you can't really get any worse for what it's trying to accomplish (being a dark ride and all).

I have yet to go on the new Star Tours. The old one was a really fun simulator though, and i have heard almost nothing but pure praise for the new version.

It get's the hate because a former brillant, elaborate E-Ticket ride of old Epcot Center was down-watered to an extremely cheap looking cardboard ride with a boring storyline you couldn't care less about. I didn't even care about it during my last 10 day stay at the World, the leaping frog fountain was more interesting to me and I didn't go on it once although it was a mere walk-on ride at that time.

But what you said is that Imagination doesnt have "disney magic." Star Tours 2 is a great ride obviously but its not Disney although they own the rights to it.

Oh no, I agree completely with you. The ride is a joke compared to what it used to be, Ill give you that. However, if the rides a walk-on, I think its nice that if you've never done it that you make sure to ride it at LEAST 1 time.
