Attractions and Vehicles as Model Kits?

The Closest thing to any Models for attractions are pretty much Paper Models. There are two good sites to make the attractions fit comfortably in the comfort of home...

A paper model might be more appropriate for Buzz Lightyear, because then it would very accurately resemble the real thing, in all of it's 2-dimensional glory. :p

Hopefully with the Marvel addition and Marvel's close assocation with the toy industries.. including collector level models/figures.. maybe there is hope for the future.

What a great idea! I would definitely buy. It would give me something to do in between trips. Star Wars speed cruiser, a working version of space mountain would be really cool. Take off the top and watch the cars go.

There was a rumor a couple years ago the disney was going to do PotC model kits where each model was a section of a pirate ship and together would create the entire ship. Sadly, a rumor is all it was.

The closest thing they did was brought out a set of action figures with a small scene..I was lucky to actually find one at a discount store for $2..I got The Red Head..but, here's a link about those actions figures..http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_021006a.htm

Yes, yes, yes, yes!!!!
My head (and wallet) would explode! I love building fine scale models, mostly WWII in 1/48 scale and modern in 1/72 scale, and I would love this!

Snap together and pre-painted diecast for beginner, casual builders, more intricate plastic, photo-etched metal, resin kits for the more experienced builder.

N scale or HO train scale would be nice as well, and believe me, they would become instant collector items. Sell an entire line of attractions, people, characters in the same scales, it would be pretty awesome. People turn entire portions of their house into a railway, with towns, rural areas, farmland, so I could see some of the more Disney addicted doing that to their home, but recreating the parks, but with monorails... I'm going to have a fit.

And note on expense, some kits, especially with mixed media (plastic, resin, etc.) can get very costly. The more "fine" the detail, the greater the production cost as well as volume produced. They could make different "levels" for everyone.

Sorry for the long boring post, but I LOVE this idea!

Oh yes, there are several kits out there based on the classic Nautilus, but they're fairly expensive and good sized. Something a bit more manageable in regards to price and size would be great.

Love this topic!

I would definately buy all of them if they would make them. I have been model railroading and enjoy putting together the model kits of buildings, etc. together. And yes, you'd be surprised how much detail a little bit of paint does to some plastic. I'd even consider taking my railroad down and make a mini "world" if they ever offer scale models. Basement not quite big enough for both

Take my money.

Okay give me $275 and I'll give you a giant set of lincoln logs, (retail price $35) You can rebuild frontiertown with those.

Just kidding though, I don't recomend you shouting someone to take your money. It might give some one the wrong impression. Just some advice.

Under normal circumstances I wouldn't, but sometimes with TDO you have to be a little more direct to get the message across.

A reasonably priced detailed model kit (or pre-assembled) would be pretty cool. They just need to hit the sweet spot between cheap cartoony, and expensive uber detailed.

They have done neat pieces IIRC that were sold at either hard ticket events or through the Disney Gallery in DLR.
