ATM's?

Does anyone know what bank Disney is affiliated with as far as their ATM's go? I assumed Chase since that's where the Disney Visa is through, but it's not. I know there will be an ATM in the hotel lobby, and although I don't plan on having to use it, I would like to know about how much it will cost in case I do. Thanks!!!

The ATMs in WDW are indeed Chase.

Off-hand I don't know how much the fee is, but I seem to recall it being less than I was expecting it to be. (I remember thinking that it was less than a couple of the ATMs I've had to use here at home)

That's strange. B/c when I searched ATM's on the Chase website it didn't list any in WDW. I guess it really is a whole other world...lol

Is it normal in the US to be charged for using ATM's? I don't think I've ever drawn money out over there.

It happens in the UK occasionally but it's pretty rare.

In the US, it's fairly common practice to be charged a fee for using an ATM that isn't your own bank's. Typically the fee is only charged by the bank/company that owns the ATM you're using, but sometimes your own bank might charge a fee. ATM fees can range from $1 to over $3, depending on the company. (Sometimes you'll see little "convenience ATMs" in the corner store that are owned by a company and not a bank, which charge a little more because of the convenience of the location)

It's one reason why some people stick to a major bank like Bank of America, because they're pretty wide-spread around the country and you can almost always find one somewhere.

Or, like me, some people belong to a credit union that participates in the SUM network. They're a collection of banks and credit unions that don't charge for ATM usage of member bank's customers. SUM ATMs aren't as wide-spread, but I know which ones near home and work belong to the program, which is helpful because I belong to my employer's credit union but it only has half a dozen ATMs and none of them are convenient for me. And if I'm going on a trip, I either take enough cash out beforehand, look up SUM ATMs near where I'm headed, or I just suck it up and pay the fee to take out money.

Lastly, some banks have accounts that they bill as ATM fee-free accounts. Every month they reimburse you for any ATM fees charged by other banks. But I think you typically have to carry a specific balance in your account to get those perks.
