Sorry if this has already been covered but.....

I was at DS yesterday and on the Backstage Tour where they drive the tram through the wardrobe and set development department, there was a large sign under construction that said "Atlantis: The Lost Continent at Disney MGM Studios"

It appeard to be a large irregular shaped piece of granite. Don't know if this will be a shot (to replace hunchback) or a new attraction.

Anyone else seen this or heard about it?

I tried to grab a camera but it passed before I could focus and snap but it was right in front of the window so they wanted people to see it!

It was an old backdrop from when the Animation Courtyard had an Atlantis Meet and Greet location (right where the Lilo and Stitch one currently is). The Animation Courtyard is where new Disney characters usually do meets in MGM.

how do you tie in a purple dragon to Discovery? Atlantis was all about discovery, it would fit.

That's still odd though. Do they normally leave things like this so easy to view? Do the guides say anything about it when you drive by? I wish we could really see things like this and they actually have meaning to them. :)

Agreed... TLS needs something and I think an Atlantis refurb would do it good... But, at this point anything would be an improvement at TLS... I've said it before, and I'll say it again. That pavilion has way too much potential to be in the state it's in now.

How about putting Altantis where 20,000 Leagues was in MK. They still haven't done anything with that property. It would be great:sohappy:

Thematically, that would be a better location than Epcot Living Seas. Maybe they'll get the bright idea and do it. Although I think it may be better to expand the (cheap and cheesy) Ariel's grotto into a full Little Mermaid ride there.

The movie was about exploration and discovery. I think theming everything sort of "retro-futuristic" like they did in the movie (and in Tomorrowland) and focusing on the aspect of exploration would do it. I don't think they would/should try to tie in the movie plot. However they may be able to use the main (MJ Fox) character -- I can't remember his name.

And the secretary with the cigarette -- she was great.

"We're all gonna die..."

Living Seas / Atlantis

Why not just give the feel, the look, that glamorous retro look at Living Seas with a narration by Michael J. Fox and have all the caracters as interactive areas.

As for 20k would be great to have it used as Atlantis, but what if they are building a Indiana Jones (DLC) type of ride?

I don't see an Indiana Jones ride going in Fantasyland.
