I have been wondering about this ever since Communicore was changed to Innoventions..There use to be a show/attraction called Astuter Computer Revue or Backstage Magic (the latter) where you walk I want to assume a catwalk and look down into an area where there were tons of computer equipment showing all the bits & pieces of Epcot working down below...They had a host with the Pepper's ghost effect showing what goes on in computer central..

What I'd like to know is.....Is this covered up somewhere or did it become a storage warehouse for Mouse Gears Merchandise??

Right now its backstage and between Guest Relations and Sum of all Thrills. IIRC most of the queue ramp was removed, but the actual guest balcony is intact and used for storage, as is most of the main show room since most of the parks infrastructure went local from 1994-ish. I believe central still controls certain BGM loops, some lighting and guest areas but not much more.

Perhaps someone more familiar with the area today can help?

Hey now, Innoventions was AWESOME when it first debuted.

Sure it's terrible NOW....but from 1994-2000, it was my favorite thing about Epcot Center.

Don't forget that Innoventions was originally hosted by our Friendly Science Guy...

And a few years back he was there doing a show in Innoventions when someone in the audience asked this awesome question...

The only thing I liked about Innoventions was the Sega Genesis/32X/Sega CD games which I played tons of times. I really miss the 80's-ness of Communicore. That's why they should just demolish the buildings and give it the LBV Village treatment, not quite Horizons but just demolish certain sections.

I actually had an update of this recently.

The ramp and balcony are indeed gone. As is the actual show area where guests stood and watched.

The large windows into central are still intact. The back wall of Sum of all Thrills is built against them.

The projection screens and EPCOT Center model are still in place.

Some of the floor cabinets are still in place, the desks and most of the other cabinets from the shows are gone.

^So, Computer Central is still in Innoventions? I didn't bother to look in Innoventions East (or West) the last time I went to Walt Disney World in 2012 cause I thought it would be nothing special. I also read that the original carpeting from Communicore is still being used? Correct me if I'm wrong.

^Thanks for your info.! :) Next time I go to Walt Disney World (hopefully in 2016!), I'll try to set out on a little venture myself of the old Communicore locations!
