Astro Orbiter refurbishment dates set for summer 2014

You can still find the info, it's so simple. First go to the park you are going to want to visit, then go to attractions, then choose the attraction you want to ride, now change the date to the day you want to ride it and if it says "no times available" then it's closed that day. Repeat it for every ride in the park and then you'll know what will be closed. I don't see how people don't find out about the ride closures when Disney created such a simplistic way of finding the information.
MyMagic+. So streamlined. Although it does indeed confirm the PeopleMover and Astro Orbiter won't close until 6/2. This makes me very happy (since we go with toddlers, the PeopleMover is a great respite for us in Tomorrowland). I also just happen to enjoy the ride as a simple (if dirty) classic.

There is not. But if you whine at Guest Services that Splash Mountain is closed when you get there, the rude CM (have not been pleased with guest services CMs at the Magic Kingdom on ANY of my visits the last few years) will point out that it was announced. To travel agents. Which unofficial websites pick up on.

It's absurd that they have done away with the "Operational Update Calendar."
they do not want you to change your plans because of refurbishments... they want you to come to the World, not come to see peter and leave

I wish they'd put something in the TTA tunnels and Space Mt. section like the show scenes from Horizons, or the House of the Future from the old exit ramp of Space Mt, or just "anything" to give the impression you are actually touring something futuristic instead riding around dark hallways.

indeed> this.....
what if they make it the rainbow tunnel =)

I've heard some rumblings that traffic patterns will be very congested in Tomorrowland for the first week or two of June because a crane will be in place right in front of the building as you enter Tomorrowland to dismantle the ride.

Perhaps I missed something. I am in the MK right now, in TL, and the People Mover AND Astro Orbiter are operating and they're full! I thought they were refurbishing now until June??!!

we arrive May 31st and are going straight to MK. I plan on getting a few tours on TTA and at least one ride on Astro Orbiter....which is a bonus because I was all prepared for them to be down our entire trip.

I have heard another update on the refurbishment for the Astro Orbiter. Apparently, when completed, the building with sport a new color scheme that will be the start of an entire refresh of Tomorrowland. It might not be anything substantial and it is just a rumor to me at this point, but a refresh of Tomorrowland sounds promising.

Putting new paint on a broken toy leaves you with a pretty, broken toy.
Hopefully we'll finally get that long-promised overhaul before the end of the century.

Hopefully this involves a multitude of colors to let you know whether or not you're in Tomorrowland East or Tomorrowland West. ;)

I'm picturing Space Mountain with a paint job similar to Epcot's repainted Communicore. Someone better fire that designer fast before she or he leaves their mark in too many places. :p
