Art of Animation Resort to have largest non-water park pool at WDW

I'm sure it's just a big pool and that's it! I don't think we'll see a slide added or anything (isn't that one of the features that seperates the values from the mods!?!).

The pools at the value resorts can become quite crowded at times, so this is a good thing!

And am I the only one who thinks that having Nemo AND Little Mermaid is a tad redundant?

I think that two Pixar films seems a little redundant. Maybe it's just me, but I never though Cars was that fabulous (course I haven't polled any appropriately aged children on the matter). I wonder why they didn't have one pre-1989 movie like Jungle Book or Peter Pan.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the pool at AKV - Jambo House the biggest single pool on property. I know Storm-A-Long Bay is big, but isn't that smaller separate pools? Not sure this pool at AoA will be bigger than the Jambo pool.

I think I'll stick with Stormalong Bay! It's what, a $50 price difference between YC/BC and AoA? Totally worth it!

Ummm, a bit more of a price difference than that...

In the 2011 value season, a Standard View room at the Beach Club is $335 a night vs. a Family Suite at Music for $194. That's a $141 per night difference.
(I don't have the AoA prices handy but presume they'll be comparable with Music's)

From booking at the Walt Disney World website for 2012:

June at AofA: 345, 395 Fri/Sat
June at Beach Club: 390, 430 Fri/Sat

Sept at AofA: 249, 279 Fri/Sat
Sept at Beach Club: 345, 370 Fri/Sat

So in June its only a $35-45 difference
But in Sept it is more of a difference at $91-96

But AoA holds 6 people. It fills a different niche--if you have a family of 6, they aren't staying in a $390 room at Beach Club. They can stay in an AoA suite for $345. For a family of 4, obviously the family suites are no bargain. But, they weren't built for families of 4.

Jungle Book already has a presence at Pop Century at the 60s building. If they decide to convert Pop Century into the Animation theme, they'll probably make that area into Jungle Book, the 50s area into Lady and the Tramp, 80s and 90s into Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and do something with the Mickey phone in the 70s area to make it less phone.

I totally agree with you. I was putting the info there for the 2 previous posters to show they were both right to a degree based on their PRICE discussion.
AofA will be totally worth it to the families who need them. There is no comparision really for this niche group.

Hmmm. Thanks for posting. I've been presuming all along that the AoA suites would be comparable in price to the ones at Music.
I just looked them up for September '12 and there's a $50 night difference between AoA and Music.

Because, as this thread originally started out describing, AoA is nicer than ASMu and has better amenities. Of course, by that logic, Pop should probably cost about $5 more per night than the All-Stars...
