I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas about where to have lunch on the day of arrival. Since we arrive about 11AM , by the time we get to our resort (WL) and check in and all it will be lunchtime. All suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Earl Of Sandwich!

We ate here for our first lunch- on our last trip.. I think we're actually going to start making it a tradition because we love it soo much.. I would definitely recomend it... plus being in DTD will get you in such a 'Disney' mood on your first day and will get you even more excited!:)

We always arrive at our resort around lunchtime, too. We just grab something quick at the resort so we don't have to rush to get to a park to eat. We'd rather kick back, feed my son and head over after we are finished. Then we become park commandos!

How about heading over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and going to Boma for lunch. One of my favorite restaurants at Disney these days. Great restaurant, and you can easily spend a bunch of hours watching the animals. They have a pretty good pool too. Neat resort.

Boma doesn't open for lunch. However, the Mara is an excellent choice for counter service at AKL... You can even get Zebra Domes!

If a sit down hearty meal is what you'd prefer, I'd agree with Trails' End at Fort Wilderness. You can boat, bus or even walk there, FW is a fun place to explore, and you can eat till you bust a gut if that's what you want. Otherwise I'd say just go to Roaring Forke then head poolside. Take it easy the first day.

I'd get a 12:30 or so ADR at the Grand Floridian Cafe. It's gorgeous, cheap, light fare (sandwiches, soup) and their mini desserts are like $2...delicious! That way you can get into to your resort at 11, get to your room by 11:30, freshen up, then boat over to the TTC and hop on the monorail to the GF, it should be about that time. Enjoy!:)

I would avoid anything at the WL the first day. You'll spend enough time there over the course of your trip.

If you are going to a park the first day I would say either The Plaza or Casey's, both on Main St. in the MK.

If not I would stay local and check out the Trails End at Fort Wilderness, Kona Cafe at the Poly or the Grand Floridian Cafe or Gasparilla Grille at the GF.

Thank you.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think we will be meeting up with the rest of the family staying at the Boardwalk so it looks like Germany in Epcot has been their selection. Thanks again for all your replies!
