Armageddon Attraction

I recall seeing this attraction on Travel Channel about Disney Studios Paris park. Would you think they would have built it at D/MgM If the movie did "good" out here in the U.S? And at least have a competition on Universal's Twister Ride it Out?

That sounds like it would be a pretty cool attraction. I haven't heard much about the one in Paris though. I can assure that the ride would be amazing though as long as "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" was playing when you got off.

Don't forget Ben Affleck!

Regarding the film's premise, Ben Affleck asked director Michael Bay, "Wouldn't it be easier for NASA to train astronauts how to drill rather than training drillers to be astronauts?" Bay told Affleck to shut up.

The armegeddon attraction is an interesting concept. It's an indoor special effects show, themed to a space station. I don't remember any more, though. :o

:hammer: Sadly yes....All I recall from this "stand-in-a-room-and-watch-everything-happening-around-you" Attraction is you get inside a space station and the asteroids reak havoc all around you..like Backdraft & Twister ride it out.

I believe he is....
but to be fair, what makes that movie so bad (other than the script) is the fact that it's directed by Satan...erm.. I mean Michael Bay.
God I hate Michael Bay...so...much...

I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that Michael Bay is a talentless troglodyte who'd be better off in a career primarily centered around fetching coffee for a real director.

I have never heard this before. That is why I'm thinking it's just another tall tale . Some how I really can't see it in MGM or any other park for that reason.

I agree, the move is only good once.

Lets break the mold; I like the attraction. Very clever technically and well done. The theme is guests are to be extras in making a new scene for Armageddon; 85A Meteor Attack. The set is the Russian Space Station. Whilst not as big as Twister or Backdraft (the set is the stations circular control room) the effects are convincing - especially when all the smoke machines have just been filled up! If you thought the fire effects at Indy or Cat Canyon were hot, then Armageddon is toastie!

Multi angle video of Armageddon Special Effects WDSP finished and coming to Disney Central and dlrp.co.uk very soon.

Your not confusing him with Michael Moore are you? Cause Moore is the most useless piece of flesh that walks this earth....IMHO.

I like the idea, but why spend all that money creating a ride around a semi-decent movie that 10 yrs from now people could care less about. That would just lead to another rehab.

I agree! I think it is a very well done attraction and entertaining. The only problem is the pre-show. For those who think that Armageddon is the worst Disney attraction you must have missed the Disney Channel tour at DLP. :animwink:  I'd like to see Armageddon or a version of Cinemagique replace sounds dangerous (which in my opinion is the second wost Disney attraction ever).
