Area Schools???

I have a quick trip question. We will be arrriving WDW Friday morning (just in time for the last MVMCP). I am expecting large crowds for that weekend but was wondering about the following week. We will be leaving Thursday morning, so I was hoping for some lighter crowds. So I was wondering, when do the area schools get out for Christmas??? Because I figure this will have a big impact on the crowds. Anyway, we plan on having a great time, because we will be in WDW, and not at work!!! :sohappy: Christmas time at Disney, CAN'T BE ANY BETTER!!! :xmas:

It varies... Hurricanes really changed the schedule this year.

Last Day of School:
Dec. 16th for Volusia County.
Dec. 17th for Seminole, Okeechobee, Marion, and Brevard County.
Dec. 21st for Osceola, Flagler, and Polk County.
Dec. 22nd for Indian River and Lake County.
Dec. 23rd for Orange County.

Expect large crowds almost at any point within the next three weeks or so. This week isn't too bad, but next week will start bringing in lots and lots of people. Don't let the crowds discourage you though...have a great time!

Anyone arriving in the next few days, the earlier you get there the better. It's going to be a mess trying to check in at most places on Friday night.

It is going to be busy, period. I would also discount your theory that the locals being out of school is going to have an effect at Christmas time. All Florida Resident offers are blocked starting on the 18th, so only Annual and Premium Annual Passholders (not seasonal) will be able to get in. I don't think this will make much difference at all.
