Are you really Disney Fans or Imposters?

I am so sorry to address this bc I have always enjoyed this board to find things out and here the latest but lately it's just everything negative about Disney. I am a little confused....are you guys really fans and do y'all enjoy Disney Vacations still? I really don't mean to offend anyone bc I definitely see some faults in Disney lately but I am confused as to why some people are on here?

Clearly you dont understand criticism aimed at upper management.

I'd say we love Disney beyond what you could imagine and we'd like to see the company do even better than it is.

The same brain circuitry is involved in both extreme hate and love emotions – but hate retains a semblance of rationality.

Impostors is a very poor choice of words. You might have thought it was "light hearted" but others would disagree.

Like everyone has said, we're entitled to our own opinions but we wouldn't be on this forum if we didn't love WDW. Aside from the sport team analogy @PUSH stated, think about your favorite TV show in a different case. You love the show overall, but there's always some episodes you didn't enjoy watching it or characters you don't like. Does that make you a hater of the overall TV show? Not at all. When all is said and done, what do you want from a TV show? You want to be entertained and you want to enjoy watching it as a whole.

The people of WDWMagic are by no means impostors or haters. They just want better parks, better rides and overall, a better vacation spot.

There is no Yeti at DL...
No, they're there in the Matterhorn...it's just that they kinda suck...well, I take it back...they do about as much as our beloved "B-Mode" does now-a-days... ;)

Let me push @PUSH's analogy further. After Dan Snyder bought the Washington Redskins he dramatically increased prices for just about everything, e.g. charging $50 to park and getting local government to close pedestrian approaches to the stadium that fans were using to avoid the expensive lots. This changes the mindset of fans. They're more demanding, less patient and more critical. They booed the team off the field at halftime of the first game of the season this year. This never would have happened under the previous ownership and its pricing policies.

Disney has been raising prices very aggressively in recent years (far faster than anything that can be explained by general price inflation). The more they do this the more critical and demanding Disney fans/guests become, not only on fan sites like this but also in the parks. Of course the Redskins and Disney have the right to charge whatever the market will bear, but if they do they risk losing some of the brand loyalty or "magic" or whatever you want to call it.

r) n. An individual who spends countless days at Walt Disney World Parks and spends countless dollars on said Parks, usually enjoying himself immensely, but never blind to the fact that quality of services could use a bit of improvement through visionary leadership.

Yeah, I think the OP is on to something. I'm an imposter.

So you were wanting a worship service rather than a town hall meeting.

No, not really, just before visiting this site, I didn't realize people held such thoughts about the place. I hadn't visited WDW until 2010 and assumed my whole life that because of its popularity and the "Most magical place on Earth" moniker that people loved it and thought it was perfect.

I was just surprised I guess. This site was an eye opener. Yet when I go to the parks every couple of weeks I still walk in and out with a smile.

Maybe someday those magic-covered glasses will disappear, but they haven't yet.

We just spend way to much time visiting, talking about, obsessing over, kvetching about, every micrometer of WDW. We're just miffed that someone ripped off our blinders. If you still feel the "MAGIC®" it's probably best you stay in "The Best Cupcake in THe World?" or "Sushi!" threads. But if you spend enough time chatting with us you'll get the hang of it.

We have a weekly competition on who can out Grumpy Grumpy. We have some real pros around here.
