In Spectromagic...

Not I, but you might check with mktiggerman, who seems to know a few folks in that area.

spectromagic..

i'll put it one way..

I know EVERY role I can possibly learn in that parade, and I refuse to do it.

It's fun at first, but after a while it gets boring.

hey Rob...maybe this is elementary but I was wondering: do all the members of the parade have other jobs within Disney or are they hired specifically for the parade?

I had a friend that was a character. She would be another character during the day and would go and be a member of the parades or shows. She picked up shifts in Spectro and Fantasmic.

Thank you kind sir...that certainly makes sense...and good time management for employees....

Likewise...

My statused area is MGM and I work in the mornings usually, but when I am in need of cash, I'll pick up Fantasmic after my shift, or Spectro.. if I'm really desparate, I'll do ToD or MK Resort dining. In entertainment, once you are trained in something, you are eligible to do it whenever, and in the case of an untrained role, you can do it after completing your basic training

...kewl...thanks for the info...it was more of a curiousity thing with me...I would imagine that the managers have to occasionally scramble to call in employees for the parades, especially on busy days when they can't pull people off other jobs...
...are you ever politely coerced into working a parade, ya know, "we need ya tonight Rob, you're not gonna let us down are you?"

They usually do that.. and then I bring up the times they've let me down... then they let me pick the role I wanna do, and I say yes. This is the only advantage to being screwed by Disney.. I get leverage when I wanna bargain.

So what is your favorite parade/show to perform in?

LOL....it wouldn't take much to send the managers into a frenzy...a busy day with a few absent employees ...I can picture them calling you to come to work on your day off just to fill some spots....
...thanks for the insight Rob and Brent...

MGM parade.. it is always fun. Fantasmic is fun too, but I like getting home early. Spectro WAS fun, but I DETEST the new cast. A lot of them are whiny prima-donnas who whined to get cast... I tell em to bite me.. I'm out drinking, while they're working... hehe. I know MK day parade, but I refuse to do it.. it's BORING! I also know Frontierland hoedown, but I haven't done it in almost a year, and I know ToD.. but it's ToD. What else.. I know the Italian Masquerade too.. and I've never done is since being trained in it..

I like watching it.. but I like my 20 minute parade.. I don't wanna be out there for over an hour.

I could easily learn it though, if I wanted to (which I may).. there's not too much for a stiltwalker to do anymore at WDW. I used to do DMM stilts, but that's gone... so MJJP may be my next goal.

I would love to be a float driver in their parade though..

Hey Rob...I was wondering what is the best way to get to be a Grand Marshal of a parade. It will be my cousins b-day when we are there and we plan to be in the Magic Kingdom that day. I thought it would be a great surprise if we could get to be the Grand Marshalls. What would give me the best shot of accomplishing this?

nope.. they were professional talent hired through the Actors Equity association, w/ WDW contracts... whats funny is, one of them tried getting in front of me in line in the cafeteria, saying that Equity should go first, so I whipped out my wallet, and flashed him my SAG card (SAG is the screen version of Equity.. with that card, you can work in Equity and AFTRA gigs.. basically, it's 1 step above Equity) and walked right in front of him. No one jumps in front of me in line.. NO ONE.. not even the tourgroups.. I will CHOKE SLAM the first one to bump me.
