Hey Rob...I was wondering what is the best way to get to be a Grand Marshal of a parade. It will be my cousins b-day when we are there and we plan to be in the Magic Kingdom that day. I thought it would be a great surprise if we could get to be the Grand Marshalls. What would give me the best shot of accomplishing this?

i have no clue if this will work, but if i were you, i'd try secretly going to guest relations (if you want it to be a surprise) that day and telling them the situation (make sure you mention that it's your cousin's b-day...maybe you should put in that you want their b-day to be extra magical for good measure) MAYBE they can set you up...no promises...i've never tried this, in fact i just came up with this idea like 2.8 seconds ago. if they can't let you be grand marshalls for the day, chances are they'll do SOMETHING for your cousin. *keeping my fingers crossed for ya!*

yeah.. I got hurt. I have permanent back, shoulder, and ankle damage. I am now allowed to only do 1 puppet in ToD (Discman) since that's the only one that never hurt me (strangely enought though, it's the heaviest one.. weird).

And no, I'm not better yet.. i'm getting there though. I go to physical therapy 3 times a week, and see a specialist every month... not too fun.

umm... I seriously have no clue. Guest Relations picks them if I'm correct

That's correct. At both MK and ST, the grand Marshalls for the parade are chosen by Guest Relations. Usually this is done early, right after park open. The GR Host working on the parade that day will go out and mingle with the guests coming in, and when he meets a family that fits the "criteria", he'll ask them to be in the parade. This is assuming that the Grand Marshall hasn't been set up in advance (visiting celebrities, Guest Communications doing some type of recovery, etc.)

i'd try secretly going to guest relations (if you want it to be a surprise) that day and telling them the situation (make sure you mention that it's your cousin's b-day...maybe you should put in that you want their b-day to be extra magical for good measure) MAYBE they can set you up.
I wouldn't suggest going into Guest Relations and asking/begging to be in the parade. The GR hosts in the lobby usually have NOTHING to do with the parade that day, and asking about it will only serve to annoy them. They try to keep things as random as possible, so the GR hosts working parade that day typically don't even dress in their costumes until AFTER the GM is chosen. If you REEEEEEEALLY need to be in the parade, you might want to try hanging out at the Tip Board at the Studios, but don't ask the GR hosts there to be in it (Best way to get them to NOT pick you :) ) Tell them it's your cousins b-day, or that you're hoping for something magical, etc - but DON'T hint that you know they choose the GM (IF they're stationed at Dining that day). Can't promist that will work, but it's better than nothing...
