Are you allowed to share a table service meal?

No
There should be a tipping version of Godwin's Law. All the OP wanted to know was if table service meals could be shared... :banghead:

And, to answer the OP, yes, they may be shared - with a few exceptions (buffets, character dining)

My wife and I ALWAYS share when we're at the park, unless it's a meal like the luau or breakfast reservations. We call it 'grazing' as we don't want to fill up at one sit down, then not be able to try other items as we wander around the park because we're full. We've never had any issues anywhere we've gone.

Regards! Michaelson

Add another raised hand. 🙋

If we're not super hungry, my bf and I might go to a restaurant and split an appetizer and an entree. We always tip appropriately as if we'd both ordered entrees. And though we don't request/expect it, if the kitchen goes to the trouble of splitting the entree onto two plates for us, that'll garner an additional few bucks.

Other times, we'll order two entrees, but ask for them to be served one at a time as separate courses so we can share them and each get some of two different things. Again, for the extra work/time/dirty plates to wash, we tip appropriately.

My wife and I often split an appetizer a main dish and then have room for desert. We do tip like we had two full meals. In the long run the server comes out ahead with a tip based on four items plus drinks versus just two mains.

🕺My hand is up. Since the Dr told me that the world needs less of me, my wife and I quite often share a meal. Easy way to control calories and portions. We tip according to what two decent meals would be at 15%. That 15% is then modified based on service. Generally it ends up in the 18 to 20% range, Most servers do a good job. Occasionally it goes the other way and a tip will end up in the 10 to 12% range.

DH and I will split a salad and an entree so that we can get a treat later on (otherwise, I'm beyond stuffed)! And our teen son (who's 16) often orders off the kids menu b/c he's picky and asks for an adult portion. We are happy and expect to pay for the adult portion.
