Rumor Are the Simpsons moving from USF to DHS?

The Simpsons fits the seemingly important mandate of Disney+ popularity and merchandising opportunities. The IP has been around for 30+ years and it’s already been translated to a theme park setting before. That - along with the fact that Universal seems likely to close their land in the near future - I could see it happening in DHS.

It checks a lot of boxes for Disney - and it could be an interesting land full of satire about theme parks and Disney in general.

That being said — this is the kind of rumor that I’ll have to see an announcement to believe.

Again, that's Jungle Cruise level. It's not the same as building Springfield Power Plant silos or giant Krusty heads.

I could be wrong though - maybe they'll find a "classy" way to do the Simpsons.

Classy and Simpsons…definitely two words that DO NOT go together…!!! 😉

Could Simpsons be an option for a Star Tours retheme? If they wanted to change Backlot Express as well you’d have Springfield mini land done relatively quickly

This is why I’m hoping that if Simpsons are in the future for DHS, the plan is to use the Indy Stunt Show area. Add the net new Simpsons attractions there and then put in a Futurama overlay onto Star Tours. Related Groening products right next to each other to create a cool little land.

Putting the Simpson’s in DHS would be about as dumb as them closing Muppets 3D and putting them in RnRC

Oh wait.
the muppets is a small kids attraction.. and for older guests...I don't see RnRC as the same.. in fact i don't ride it so its no muppets for small kids or for the older guests..

If Simpsons had to go to DHS, this would be the ideal spot. AC should be saved for something far larger than Simpsons.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
Simpsons is so completely off-brand for any Disney theme park...
So Disney owns it now...they own a ton of their own IP they let languish that could be producing....
But Simpsons if just wrong.... Especially since it has a history of being a Universal Theme park IP.
It would be a terrible idea.
I dont get the backlash over the idea of Simpsons being in the parks. Fits just as well as Marvel, Lucasfilm, Muppets, and branching off of Marvel... Deadpool. 😂

It would be fine.

I don’t have a problem with other IP in the parks. There is just something about the Simpson’s that does not “fit” for me and I can’t give a concrete reason. Somehow, Star Wars and even Marvel feels “Disney,” and Simpson’s doesn’t. But I have no concrete reason for this lol.

Marvel still does not feel "Disney" to me and I am still baffled why they own it except for the obvious reason $$$$$$.

I think with Simpsons, it doesn’t feel Disney because it’s not “fantastical.” It’s a sitcom about a family in suburbia. It’s more crass and irreverent than your typical Disney fare, Deadpool notwithstanding.
Another part of that is that Disney typically doesn’t build rides around Tv shows. Twilight Zone & Muppets are the only exceptions, and Muppets is debatable.

I think you might have identified some of why I feel that way for sure. The crassness in particular.

If I was Disney, I would want future generations to think of The Simpsons (some of the most culturally relevant animation ever) as a Disney product, just like they managed to do with Marvel. Building up the Simpsons in the parks would be part of the long term plan, even though it would likely just be an updated version of exactly what Universal has.

Cheap, easy, already laid out, and would print money in food and beverage. Not to mention Simpsons is probably one of the top five most streamed shows on Earth. Easy move. I personally don't think Simpsons fits any less than Marvel, Star Wars, or Aerosmith. You have people lining up for photo ops with actually genocidal Nazi stand ins but The Simpsons is where a lot of people draw the line?

Comedy = no class?

Yes, because that’s exactly what I posted…NOT. 🙄
I never suggested that comedy, in general, was “no class”, you did that. Do not put words in my mouth. It’s an opinion. I do not consider The Simpson’s as classy. I also do not consider myself as “classy”. Again, people have different opinions of different kinds of comedy.
Example…
About 40 years ago, a girl I was dating really liked Eddie Murphy on SNL. Through connections, I got 8th row floor tickets for a show he was coming to do here.
She was sooo excited.
She sat stone-faced through the vast majority of that show, and was very quiet on the way home to drop her off.
When we got to her place, I asked her what was wrong. She said that that show was the most despicable, nasty, vile, CLASSLESS thing she had ever seen. She made it clear she wasn’t mad at me, but she had no clue there was a huge difference between Eddie Murphy on SNL and Eddie Murphy’s live stage performances.
We never went out again.
Also, I would have thought you would have seen that I was mostly being silly with my winking emoji at the end of my post.
Again, don’t knee jerk and put words in my mouth.
