I don't think Simpsons or Futurama is too adult for a Magic Kingdom park, not after Tron got added and DLR has Star Tours and Galaxy's Edge.

Like, the most iconic ride at Disney has a scene where there's a guy on a noose, but Homer or Bender is too far? Get outta here. That's about on par in my eyes.

I can understand these complaints about Alien taking over Stitch, but even then, I feel Alien with that pitch is Fine and can work in a MK-like Park.

Family Guy and American Dad feel like a step too much for the parks, but I'm sure Disney can somehow make Stan Smith's American Adventure in EPCOT or Stewie's Space Mountain for MK somehow and have all of us ready pitchforks.
It's more about sincerity, not 'edginess'. Haunted Mansion may have a guy on a noose, but it isn't snickering at how lame it is.

Simpsons is all about mockery. Be careful or you'll end up in Tiki Room Under New Management territory.

Pretty sure the new Imagineering is just reading these forums for ideas based on what they have recently announced, so let's not put this out there. Simpsons, Apes, or any Fox IP does not belong in a Disney Park.

Years ago, I couldn’t imagine Disney adding any Marvel Character/Hero to a Disney Park….

Just saying.😐

Marvel and Simpsons aren't the same though. They bought Marvel at a time when those properties were on a massive upswing and an entire universe was being created. They wanted Marvel (and Star Wars) as a way to offset "Princesses," as a variety of fantastical heroes.

Simpsons, staying power aside - are just goofy, on a downward swing, and would cause just more general confusion as it has existed now at Universal for years. Obviously, it is going to be replaced & probably pretty quickly within the next 3-5 years...but, it's just not the right property. Somethings don't need to be, and this is one of those things.

I love Family Guy -- when I was in High School it was the biggest thing around -- then into/after college, Bob's Burgers. These are great IP and fun shows, but it doesn't make it right for "DISNEY" in the parks. I like that they own the IP, and have a higher grossing draw on Disney+, but keep it out of the parks.

Can someone make a poll on here? lol I'm not seeing where i can...but i feel like we need to put this to a vote! haha

Planet of the Apes is no different from Avatar and Star Wars pre-acquistion and is the most inoffensive Fox IP that comes to mind that can fit into the parks.

Well obviously, but if it's likely going to happen since Bob's other toys he bought creeped into the parks and Eisner's puppets he bought are making the parks community riot. We all know how this is ending so let's just skip to the point :p

It's applicable to many, many properties outside of, and including the subject of, this thread, though. Too many people think, "Well, I like X, Y, or Z and therefore it should be in the parks!!!!11!!". This particular property has less than zero business or reason to go into a Disney theme park.

Oh my dear boy I hope you never watch Deadpool, see his appearance at the latest D23, or his meet and greets in Disneyland.

Again, this ship has sailed. Thematic consistency and earnestness are long gone. Enjoy the rides!

Deadpool 3 is the currently 2nd highest grossing film of 2024, and Marvel universe already exists in an entire land in DCA. Apples & Oranges.

But the OP was bemoaning the insertion of The Simpsons because they were insincere, edgy, and “all about mockery.” The MCU is it’s own thing, but Deadpool is all that and then some, yet has been welcomed with open arms into the parks and Disney proper.

In my opinion, having a walk-around character, or even a little live show, that pokes fun at the Disney corporation and even the park is not new. It's in line with Jungle Cruise skipper antics.

But once you start pouring concrete to erect edifices dedicated to "Isn't this whole thing stupid" you're introducing brand dissonance much stronger than junk and grime in the alleys of Batuu.

Maybe it can be done well. I'm just saying, be careful.

Simpsons is no more mocking than MuppetVision. A good amount of that show’s humor is mocking “cheap 3D tricks” and the Disney corporation as a whole. Rizzo dresses up like Mickey and snarks about “deodorant strength.” Statler and Waldorf’s “Goofy Mask” comment is probably meaner than anything they’d do with Simpsons.

Again, that's Jungle Cruise level. It's not the same as building Springfield Power Plant silos or giant Krusty heads.

I could be wrong though - maybe they'll find a "classy" way to do the Simpsons.
