View attachment 143941 View attachment 143942 Mulan & Pocahontas debuted new looks today! Has anyone heard about if the other princesses will be getting new looks? (Not my pics)
Belle, CInderella, Show White and Aurora got new looks a couple years ago. Maleficent and Evil Queen have also gotten new outfit looks but currently only the new makeup design has been seen in the parks. The new outfits have only been seen in Club Villain.

I agree that there's nothing wrong with them. So what that their outfit colors don't match? The brighter colors make them stand out more, and fit them nicely.
It is a complete redesign of a rcognizable costume to something that is historically and culturally wrong... The movie is set in a certain time and place....to put Mulan in a 19th century euopean ballgown is just wrong...they are changing the colors fabrics and lines to something that does not resemble the costume any more...but I BET it will match the new princess dress-up costume they will be selling in the stores...If Mulan had a more traditional princess gown they would probably sell more dresses....So...watch in the next few years for Pocohontas to start getting a ballroom makeover as well...And Jasmine will probably end up looking like Anna from The King And I....

The princesses have all gotten in-park makeovers for the first time in 15 years or more. Up until her recent redesign, Belle had been wearing the same costume since her movie was released. Ariel got her first non-canon green dress in 2007 to facilitate dining appearances. Cinderella had been wearing the same dress since some time in the 90's. Aurora went from blue to pink in the early 2000s if I remember correctly, but the dress remained materially the same. Jasmine, Mulan and Pocahontas have had the same costumes since the release of their films.

The new looks were ostensibly to update the princesses and make them look more realistic while also somewhat matching the new DCP princess line, which brought some of the girls way off-model (most notably Cinderella, who got a new face and new hair).

The new Mulan and Pocahontas costumes are dumbfounding - they don't resemble the characters' film outfits in any way shape or form, but nor do they match the new merch looks, nor do they possess any historical accuracy. I can't figure it out at all, but this is what happens when you have people in charge who have no attachment or respect for the brand and what makes it work.

I'm really curious when Jasmine's new look will debut. Right now she's the only one of the original eight Disney Princesses without one. I actually like the updates to the dresses of the Princesses
