A little personal info...DH and I have 13 trips in 10 years under our belt, we love WDW before and after kids. We have taken our babies at every age and I have even been pregnant. Our kids are now 10,9, 5, 4 and 8 months and besides the baby our kids are mini park experts. We have a Mickey bathroom in the basement playroom and a Disney jar in our kitchen. Not mich else Although we have a large family DH and I are in our 30's in shape and dare I say a smigen hip;) After the shock of finding out we have five kids people are floored we love Disney. I mean floored, I get odd comments like, "but you don't look like Disney people? "But I've never seen you in a Tigger/Princess/Minne shirt" or "your taste seem a little different than Disney", "but you don't have Disney Stick people on your car"
We find this really funny, what is/are Disney people? Because I want to be one! And hope I am on my way to being Disney people...
Anyway do any of you get this odd reaction to the revelation you love WDW?

To me, DisneySide is what I feel on the inside. ;) Real Disney people get that the smell of Main Street fills you with indescribable content. They get that the sounds of Spectromagic bring you to tears. What the outsiders don't get is that Disney is so much more than a theme park with rides and characters. It's a canvas that incorporates so many stories in fascinating detail, and allows you to paint new pictures and enjoy old ones over and over.

23 years old, going on my 33rd trip this year. Even my family that used to go multiple times a year doesn't quite understand my continued infatuation. It's ok though - we do what we do because it makes us happy!

We have been visiting Disney since my youngest was 3.....he is now 30. Every time we tell people we are visiting Disney, the response in......"AGAIN? How can you go so often"? Well....there are many reasons why we go so often the most important......"WE LOVE IT". We always find a reason to celebrate at Disney, always find an offer we cannot pass on. We love the feel of arriving at the parks, the music in Epcot, the sound of the train coming into the station on Main Street......"Aaaaalllllll Aboarddddddd". We love exploring the resorts and eating at the many resort restaurants. We love just relaxing and feeling like we are home...... And yes @belledream ....the sounds of Spectromagic.....brings a tear to my eyes too. That is why in November , we will be returning with our first grandchild....our granddaughter.....she will be 19 months old and this will be her first visit. Another reason to Celebrate!!

I definitely think our friends think we're crazy for going as often and long as we do, and it probably seemed like a strange honeymoon since people don't think of it as a place that adults go without kids. Some people spend their money on nicer cars and whatnot, this is just what makes us happy. And honestly, I think the people that don't get it are just as crazy as they think we are - how could you not love Disney World?

Nope. Was at Disney just last month. On the the road right now as I type this to go to the 24 hour event tomorrow. It's just what I like to do. :)

My husband and I are in our 60's and we live 3 hours south of Disney. We go a few times a year for at least a week. Our friends think were crazy! We love Disney and with the Florida Residents Discounts and Annual passes its cheaper then going to the beach or anywhere else. We go off season when the crowds are low. We go at a slow pace and just do want we want and just enjoy being away from home and people watching.

I'm your average guy. I'm a sports nut, love fishing and the outdoors, and am in good shape. So when people find out I love Disney like I do I usually get a "Really? No..." response or some such. My house is mostly decorated with sports stuff, but I have a couple of attraction posters on the wall and some Mickey stuff scattered about. A girl I was talking to came over one night and after seeing my Disney stuff questioned me about it. We don't talk anymore, I think it weirded her out. My usual buddies never say "Y'all are going again?!" but ask "So when's the next trip." They know better.

My first boyfriend when I was in high school had a horrid mother who was a complete Disney nut. Mickey iron-ons on every shirt and pair of mom jeans; mickey wallpaper that obviously meant for a kid's playroom in her living room; all the doorknobs in her house were mickey ears the knobs in her kitchen too. She had no idea what pop music - or any contemporary music was because she ONLY listened to Disney songs. Disney bed sheets. snow globes everywhere. She didn't wear her wedding ring - she wore a mickey ring. Literally there wasn't a spot in her house or car that wasn't Disney'fied . It was the oddest thing I'd ever seen - especially since her two teenage sons and her husband seemed to hate it all.

I think the image of her two kids and husband rolling their eyes at her purchase of her umpteenth mickey figurine is forever ingrained on my brain. Because of her I REALLY keep my Disney-Side in check. I barely talk Disney outside these boards. When we went to the World I barely got any souvenirs in fear of a collection brewing haha. Come to think of it... if she ever figured out how the internet worked...she's probably here... o_O....hey Kathy...

DW & I get grief from people over it. Friends ask us why we're going "there" and not somewhere else. I just queue it up as "haters gonna hate" and go on my way.

People always tell me they aren't surprised when they find out I love Disney. Not sure what that says about me!! :) Must have a "Disney" personality!

I have a lot of fan "sides" that might shock my social circle, but with them, my Disney side never does. :)
I'll admit that getting pictures with Tinkerbell, and putting them on my iPad wallpaper did require a bit of contextual explanation, though.

Most people aren't surprised, although I don't reveal the intensity of my Disney side until I'm really comfortable with people.

While it shocks some people, I'm always surprised to find that there are a lot of hidden Disney lovers out there. I recently left a department where my one supervisor goes every other year and the other supervisor goes twice a year. In my new dept, several of them go at least once a year, one is prepping for Star Wars weekend, and my boss' boss apparently has a decent love for it as well...he wore a Disney button down dress shirt to a big meeting the other day with our division leader. I just bought myself a new Disney Dooney and I have a feeling it will be very well received in my new group...i.e. it's OK to have a major Disney side. :)

Now, most of them don't know that I've been going since the 80s, most of them don't know I was a FL resident for a while and went A LOT, and most don't know that I know enough to book their trips...but everyone seems to have a lot of fun coming to me for help.
