Are Oranges a good sign ... or just citrus?

Yes. This.
Spending every day in the parks is not a job. It's the avoidance of a job.

That's why it's called a "vacation." And why I like to keep it that way. No offense to our resident Floridians, but any look at the non-Disney news that comes out of Florida... yikes. I don't mind the cold weather THAT much.

Still standing by my story that Twitter is incredibly useful. I don't follow the tweaking Disney nutcases that have been mentioned here, though. :)

I don't follow them either. Don't see the need to.

I'm okay with Twitter when it's being used properly to give short updates or fun little messages. My issue is with people using it for carrying on long chats. Seeing a Twitter feed full of tweets like "Yeah", "Me, too" or "lol" makes me want to strangle the whole system.

First, welcome to what appears to be a sane newbie. On behalf of the entire cast of WDWMAGIC.com, we hope you enjoy your MAGICal stay!:)

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Well, when UNI is building Potter and SW is building Antarctica and your own company is building everywhere but WDW (timeshares do NOT count, although Disney spin wants you to believe otherwise ... indeed, we have geeks making trips down just to check out Princess rooms at Dixie Landings or pay absurd rates to stay in a 'family suite' at the AoA motel etc) ... what are you going to build up?

You have no new product.

Summer 2012 is just around the corrner.

Look at what UNI can market ... hell, look what DLR can market.

What is Disney going to push?

Yep ... retro food and merchandise.

That is a sad but true statement. Although brighter days are indeed on the horizon. Just think, this time next summer WDW can promote the brand new immersive Little Mermaid E-ticket....oh no wait...D-ticket.

Also the lavish new Beauty and The Beast restaurant. A restaurant that wouldn't have had to have been constructed if they would just open a few of the following defunct locations:
1. Tomorrowland Terrace
2. Adventureland Veranda
3. Tortuga Tavern
4. Diamond Horseshoe
5. Aunt Polly's.

If they would open just three of those locations the funds for this new restaurant could have been used for something much more needed, such as a ride. That's far too radical a concept though these days.

It gets even better because two years from now they can promote a brand new kiddie coaster. Highly themed but still a kiddie coaster.

Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that they're spending money on the parks. I just don't like the fact that they're wasting the money they're spending on plans that could've and should've been improved.

The whole Citrus thing is quite bizarre to me. I understand for some people it is a big deal, for those who were there in the old days, and I get that. Yet a lot of the people who are making a big song and dance about this are in their teens, and never had any real attachment in the first place, and yet are jumping on board because it is somehow cool to do?

All the cool kids are fighting scurvy. Oh it starts with a citrus swirl and the next thing you know the kids are stealing lemons, joining grapefruit gangs.

Why, soon you won't be able to walk the streets without the fear losing a lime to some vitamin C addict. In my day the kids where polite, jaundiced, gum bleeders and they new their place in society.

Now we have to worry about social media fostering flash mobs of youths brandishing tangerines. Frankly I find the acceptance of unnatural Tangelos to be a sign of the times.

Is Tortuga Tavern closed again? Anyway, demand for food at the Magic Kingdom is not fixed. You can entice people to buy your food that would have otherwise brought sandwiches or eaten off-property or would have eaten counter service instead of table service. Having a gimmicky dining experience like this can do that. 100 seats at Be Our Guest is worth more to Disney than 100 seats at Aunt Polly's.

Hey, look. Torches.

What does, however, belong in Disney is a refurb where they restore the torches. The Terrace looks daft now - a roofline of monkey statues with their hands in the air to hold up...nothing. What rubbish.

I hear you -- so don't follow those people, either. ;)

It is a bit silly, isn't it? Spending money to build a new restaurant when you've got perfectly good ones sitting empty. Better hope a LOT of people are dying to dine with Lumiere...
