Are Character Overlays Really the Problem with Epcot's Decreasing Quality?

I don't recall being given a choice, but if I had, I would have chosen as you did- to see the movie.

This was an option that they added on in the last few years of operation, as people were complaining about being forced to watch a movie that they'd seen many times before. I never got tired of it, and always went the movie route.
