Aquatica Wavepool Evacuated due to DOODIE!

I was down at Aquatica today, it was a nice day to be there. The lines were non existent and the weather was quite nice. We were in the "bigger" wave pool around 4:30 when the lifeguards politely asked everyone to get out of the pool. Upon further questioning the guards, one replied, "stay in if you like doodies!"

Needless to say, we got out! I think someone saw a Baby Ruth floating by! Good eye lifeguards, good eye!

This is actually not that rare of an occurance in any water park or pool in which children swim. Lifeguards are taught a special codename for the happening and are often prepared to have to evacuate the pool to clear the affected area of all offensive materials.

Man... Tourists laying mud muffins in the wave pool! What is this world coming to?

I bet they were itchy in all kinds of ways after that little surprise. I wonder how they will go about washing that swimsuit too!

Thanks for a PR type of thing there...

You state the obvious. I state they used the word "doodie." This made it fun.

this actually is a very serious problem at WDW resorts ... it seems like everytime I stay on property my resort's pool gets closed for hours at a time for 'brown outs' ... I have even seen poor $7.50 an hr CMs wading into the water with nets.

It may sound funny, but it's snot ... I mean it's not.

It can cause health issues as well and is just plain disgusting.

This seems to be a uniquely Orlando deal as I have traveled extensively in both the USA and abroad and I have never once had a pool closed for such a disgusting reason.

Ultimately, this is just bad parenting and laziness. If your kid can't use a bathroom, they shouldn't be in a pool period (unless it is yours) swim diapers or not ...

Sick ... thanks for shedding light on this dirty little O-Town extra!

EXACTLY WHERE is this thread is the offending "doody" asked its nationality

Before you start associating human excrement to "tourists" get your facts right first - there is as much chance of it being a Florida "home grown" doody as it is from anywhere else in the world.

Finally, Florida wouldn't be what it is today without us "tourists"

Indeed it is. In fact, after living herefor several years I'd put money down that a Floridian would do such a thing before an out of towner!

Of course, one can be visiting from within the state of Florida and still be a tourist, so I think my original statement still stands!

God, I can't imagine what it was like to clean that thing out of a wave pool. Chances are our little friend got sucked into the water intake and got mashed into the filter. AHHHH!

Maybe that's because they don't close the pool when it happens in other places. They just scoop it out and go along with their day... :lookaroun

But seriously... yes... people go poopie in pools all over the world.

Poo happens.

Personally, I found that what you stated was clearly implying the release of fecal matter in the pool. You seemed to single out the situation, so my response was made clearly to point out that it happens often. I personally am not one to refer to such excrements as "doodie" for comedy's sake or for any other reason, for that matter.

I'm not into "toilet humor" so I didn't find your post as funny as you may have intended, but my post was reflective of my normal posting style and not of PR. If you post about the obvious, you will get a response about the obvious. Period.

This isn't limited to just WDW. This summer there were massive closures all over the US because pools were being infected with a terrible bacteria caused by bodily emissions. I believe that's even why WDW put out their humorous rule signs at the water parks.

I can't even fathom why anyone would consider leaving their calling card in a public pool as an acceptable thing to do.
