APs getting screwed?

From micechat.com (http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al091812a.htm):

Granted, this study was for Disneyland but "what's good for the goose is good for the gander". As for F&W, any one with half a brain knows that it is the locals who swell the ranks during the weekends and make it a drunkfest.

Disneyland has a much higher ratio of AP holders though, that report is from Disneyland so doesn't reflect on Disney World. If I accept that locals swell the weekend crowd (I'm from the UK) this in no way proves they're AP holders getting smashed on alcohol though does it?

Ok, I've decided to bite the bullet and book a resort stay for one night in order to receive magic bands for my family. Waiting until "testing" is complete is just not gonna cut it. Not to throw this discussion off topic, but does anyone know whether or not guests at the Swan and Dolphin are now receiving MagicBands? I understand there was a "test" at those resorts recently. I need to know if from hence forth guests who stay there are receiving bands. I am a Starwood member who has a lot of points to use for free rooms. I would much rather stay there than the POP or one of the ALL-Stars if I will get my damn MagicBands! If not, then I will rough it over at the POP. :)

Regardless of the price I refuse to out of principle.

No MagicBands at Swan or Dolphin.

I hate to sound repetitious but when they started the monthly pay plan ( and now EVERYONE IN FLORIDA has an ap along with a ap car sticker ) they made every one a loyal customer. So that's why we're last priority.

Yeah, I went from thinking my AP sticker/magnet was really cool to being completely turned off by seeing so many of them. People will undoubtedly take this the wrong way, but I hate when you see that AP magnet on a piece of crap car that you know has no business spending that kind of money on Disney World APs.

Just out of interest my friend, where do you get the AP holder car magnets from? We bought our Premium AP's in October and weren't offered one, we live in the UK so I'm wondering if they'll post one to us in preperation for our return in September?

We received ours inside one of those Mickey Monitor booklets they mail out to passholders.

Ok thanks, we never get that unfortnately. It's prbably with us living in the UK (though they have our address) and the cost of posting it to us? I'll try searching online as to whom I can email to request they send us a car magnet unless anyone on here can tell me? Alternatively we'll have to wait till September when we're there in person and try to aquire one then.

There is no address to request one and unless things change, they do not have the magnets when you purchase your AP. Other posters have inquired and were told it was a ''limited time offer. ''

Especially the local AP holder who doesn't open their wallet, was the #1 abuser of the GAC and has made F&W into a drunkfest.
No, they do not make any distinction between locals and those who come from out of state.

If you spend 30 nights a year in deluxe hotels, eating Disney food and visiting Disney theme parks, they still will not value you or give you any sort of appreciation for that.

I got mine in the Mickey Monitor, too. It isn't on my car, though.

I didn't know they gave out magnets to AP's and I have been an AP for 7 years and I didn't get one...what the heck, I want one darn it!

I bought my AP in August and I got mine in the Autumn issue of the Mickey Monitor. It's on my car and I'm surprised it's not been ganked yet, TBH.

I just got off the phone with Disney and i said how we're getting the short end of the stick and the CM said that AP holders will be able to make FP+ selections before hand, that they just havent had time to get to AP holders yet. They can only do one thing at a time. Right now its only for on site guests.
LOL you cant make this stuff up!
Got a similar response when I called. The CM was at least honest and said she had no idea when AP's would be able to join in. Most of my questions were answered with an "I dont know" or "we havent got to AP holders yet for that" I mentioned how they sure have gotten to the sending 5 emails a day reminding me to renew my AP. which basically means they want my money but Im not as valued as other guests. And the emails are worded in a way that make it seem like I am really a valued customer. lol. She kept mentioning that it was in testing phase, blah, blah, blah. Well you know what, my money for renewal is in "testing phase" as well.

edit: when we get there though, my wife is gonna go into full blown pixie dust overdose mode, she always does, and she is gonna try her hardest to convince me to renew. Im gonna have some fun with that:cool:

You have an Annual Pass, somebody outside of Florida can only go once in their life.
They have to fight with people that can see the same attraction several times a year for a FP+

Nobody has a problem with that?
Just because you live outside of Florida does not mean that you can only visit once in your lifetime. I have never lived in Florida and have visited DOZENS of times.
TWDC has made it a "once in a lifetime" destination through high prices, not from people living far away. When the parks first opened they were affordable and now, thanks to greed and the s.o.b's in charge, you have to save for ten years to be able to afford a 7 night stay at Pop. Blaming people for living in Fla. as to why they can't participate in this BILLION dollar fiasco is crazy.

Just because someone lives in Florida doesn't necessarily mean it is a quick travel to get to WDW. Some FL. folks could have about an 8 hour drive, so in that instance, considering cost of gas vs. air fare, it can be cheaper for an out of state-er to fly in for vacation than a Florida resident to drive to WDW. Also DVC owners everywhere get the same AP discount as FL residents.
