April 2010 trip report!

Hey everyone! sorry I couldn't think of a better name for this but welcome to my trip report! I posted a pre-trip report here. the only thing that changed was that we decided to stay at All Star Sports instead. So here we go!

Friday 4/16- We leave for the World! We woke up around 3:00am and took off from Massachusetts. This day was pretty uneventful. We stopped around 7:00pm for the night in South Carolina.

Saturday 4/17-
Today we got up around 8am and Hit the road! We arrived in Florida around 2pm. Stopped at the Welcome center, got some O.J., some Florida pamphlets and we were back on the road for another 4 hours to get to my grandparents house.

Me, Sarah, Haley, and Sam

Sunday 4/18- We sleeped in a little bit today. We ended up checking into the hotel around 1pm. There was no line for check in(I know we were early). We found out that my parents and sisters room was ready but mine and my friends was not. So we decided to unpack our van and just put everything into one room because the other room was going to be next to it. As soon as we parked the van near our building, It begins to DOWNPOUR like if your in the rain for a second you will be soaked. we all grabbed as many bags as we could and brought them to the room that was ready. We hung out in the room for a little bit but 6 people in one value sized room is just a tad tight. so we decided to walk over to the cafe for an early dinner around 4pm. After dinner it was still raining but it wasn't as bad as before. So we said what the hey and went swimming in the rain. We headed back to our rooms(the other one was ready by this time) and got ready for bed. We had a full day at animal kingdom tomorrow!

Monday 4/19- Animal Kingdom! We woke up around 7:30am today. Everyone was very exciting to get to the park because today we had a character breakfast at Tusker House(A first for us!) We were able to get on the bus for Animal Kingdom around 8:15. My cousin and aunt(A.K.A. Our Heros for this week) work at the parks and they were able to get us in to the park! After we got past the turnstiles, we had to wait for the rope to drop(even though our breakfast reservations were for 9:05, we had to wait until 9:00 to go. We got to the front where the rope was on the far right hand side. The rope drop was alright. Mickey and some friends came out on a float and then the Cast Members walked us to the tree of life and then we could go. We got to Tusker House around 9:15. While we were waiting to go inside, me and Sarah took all the tickets and get Fast passes to the safari for 11:00am. by the time we got back, it was a mater of seconds before our table was ready. We then got in line for our picture with donald and then we went inside. Let me start out by saying Jungle Juice is my favorite juice. That stuff is delicious! My dad must have drank at least 4 glasses of it with his coffee. When we got up to get our food we couldn't believe the selection everything looked very well done. I got some ham, potatoes, fruit, mickey waffles, and other stuff. my sister got this thing that was egg, cheese, and ham in like a pizza shape. It must have been good because she went up for seconds! The Characters were very good here as well. Our first visit was From Mickey. Followed by Daisey, and then Goofy. Goofy was everybody's favorite. We each got individual pictures with him. Overall we really enjoyed the Tusker House we will defiantly be returning again.

After our delicious breakfast, we went to Kilimanjaro Safari's. Our fastpasses got us right on. This was one of the best safari's I had ever seen. Almost every animal was out (Well except for those lions). A lot of giraffes were eating on nearby trees. We even had an ostrich get a little too close for comfort.
SAM_0229.jpg

SAM_0230.jpg

SAM_0231.jpg

Next it was Everest Time! the standby wait time was only 30 minutes so we decided to wait this out. Haley thought she was going to go on but then back out. Maybe next time. Going on this ride was myself, Sarah, my dad, and Sam. all of us besides Sarah had been on and we told her NOTHING about the ride. so the ride starts and shes all pumped up we get to the park with the broken track and she starts freaking out "Emily we stopped", "There is no more track" "someone is coming to get us right?" and then we went backwards. She says it was her favorite ride (although in the picture her head is down).
everest2.jpg

everest.jpg

Kali River Rapids were up next. I have no picture of that ride but everyone got soaked. The line went by very fast, only a 20 minute wait

Next we did it's tough to be a bug. A first for both Haley and Sarah. Haley LOVED IT!!! Sarah, freaked at the spiders. We also had no wait for it.
SAM_0232.jpg

Me and Haley

We then Sprinted over to Festival of the Lion King! we were in the Lion Section about the 4th row back. This was Sarah's favorite show of the whole week. I noticed a lot of the cast has changed. But maybe thats just because I haven't been in two years...

Parade Time! The parade ended up starting early due to rain. Lucky for us we brought two umbrella. Once the parade started the rain began to clear up. We got a lot of character interaction during the parade. one of the Cast Members also stopped during the Parade and had a conversation with me about my pin collection.

IMG_0338.jpg

After the parade we went to a showing of Finding Nemo: The Musical. Me, Haley, and my mom love this show. My dad, Sam, and Sarah think its okay. We got middle seats on the upper level. This is one of those shows that you must be there a half hour before it starts. The show was starting at 5:15 and by 5:00 the doors were shut and no one else could come in because every seat was filled. These pictures didn't come out as good because you can't use flash
SAM_0242.jpg

SAM_0243.jpg

We wrapped up the day with a trip to Dinoland USA. Me, my dad, Sam, and Sarah decided to go on dinosaur, while Haley and my mom dug up some fossils. We had never been on Dinosaur and it wasn't too bad. I'd go on again. However, I did lose one of my pins on the ride:( The wait for dinosaur was nothing it was basically walk on. After we all took a quick spin on triceratops spin and left the park around 6:30. Our bus had no line and come with in 5 minutes of us getting there. We went back to the hotel and got some dinner. Tomorrow we were off to DHS!

Tuesday 4/20- Disney's Hollywood Studios!- Today we woke up a bit later, around 8:00. Got to the All Star cafe around 8:30 and it was Jam packed with people. So breakfast took longer then we would have liked it to. After we finished around 9 we went to the bus. This bus wait I kid you not was at least a half hour wait! Hollywood is not that far away from the All Stars but it took 30 minutes for a bus! It was ridiculous. We finally got a bus around 9:30. We met up with my Aunt who works the parades and such at DHS she got us all into the park and as an added bonus.....FASTPASSES! we got 6 TSMM, 6 TOT, 6 Star Tours, 12 RnR, and 6 that we could use on anything except TSMM!!!! We had so many we ended up giving some away to other people waiting in the long lines that day.
IMG_0349.jpg

So the first thing we did? TSMM! It was Me and Haley, In back was Sam and Sarah and My parents were against each other. It was everyone's first time on. What a fun ride! My dad scored the highest score, followed close by Sam.

In all the years we've been to WDW, We have never been on The Great Movie Ride. So I told the group I wanted to go on so we did. We got Cowboy mode, in the seat right behind the tour guy, who was really cool. he kept saying that I killed the Witch in the Wizard of oz scene. No fastpass for this ride so we waited about 30-45 minutes the line moved at a steady pace though.
SAM_0260.jpg

Next we went to try and catch the 11:00 show of American Idol but we were too late. Sarah asked on of the cast members if she could try out. They said sure and told her where to go. So while Me and Sarah went to American Idol, The rest of the gang started heading towards Muppets. Sarah sang the National Anthem. The judge said he loved her voice, she did great, but not the style they were looking for? I think they already had their 20 people for the day. Anyways she got a pin and she was happy.
We then ran over to meet the rest of the gang and got their just in time to see Muppet Vision 3-D. I don't have much to say about it, seen it a thousand times but I still enjoy going.
By now It was around 1:00pm so we went over to star tours. Sarah didn't want to do this ride for some reason so It was me, My dad and Sam. I really can't wait for them to re-do this ride. all the seat are ripped, half of them have tape over them because they are broken and in our car, the doors wouldn't shut at first it took the Cast Member about 10 minutes fiddling with buttons to get them to close.
Once we got off, We headed over to Sci-Fi for lunch Reservation. Not a bad wait we got there around 1:35-1:40 and were seated by 1:50. We got a blue car. The Food was decent, the Milkshakes were very good, the atmosphere was cool but it was very quiet. I'm not sure if it was just the time we went at but I felt like if I talked to the person next to me, people 3 cars down could hear...It was that quiet. Although we enjoyed sci- fi we aren't sure if we'll be going back. It's a little too pricey for what you get.

As we started walking around and ran into the parade. Haley wanted to watch it so we found a spot to watch and Before I knew it, I was getting dragged into the parade, doing the hussle and YMCA with other people Sam joined me a few seconds later. I still don't really care for this parade but it is more enjoyable when your in it.
IMG_0362.jpg

After the Parade we decided to divide up. Mom, Haley, Sarah, and I went to see Beauty and the Beast while Dad and Sam went and saw lights, Motors action. Beauty and the Beast was good I didn't like this belle though, she sang the songs a little too high. Over at Lights, Motors, Action, My dad and sister got to be on DISNEY 365! They had to scream Disney 365 why 365 was there we still don't know.

Next we went to RnR. Haley hates upside down rides so her and my mom sat this one out. But the rest of us went on 2 times in a row! We had Walk this Way playing both times. The first time me and sarah got the front seat the second time we all got the middle. here's our picture.
rr3.jpg

rr.jpg

rr2.jpg

Then we went on ToT....Well only me and Sam did because no one else wanted to. So we are waiting for the elevator to come and the guy next to us goes "hey I heard this ride was really easy, like Big Thunder Mountain easy" I replied " No Its easier like it's a small world." he says "Oh do we get a cute song" I say" No but you got a movie so you can't really complain" So then our car comes down. Me and sam are in the back row, This man and his family are in the row in front of us. so the ride starts and we are about to drop and all of a sudden you hear "It's a world of laughter it's a world of fear" and it continued throughout most of the ride! he made that ride so much more entertaining. If you are reading this, thank you for making me laugh instead of scream on that ride:lol:

Sorry it has taken me so long to continue writing guys, I've been busy with College stuff...

So after ToT, We got some snacks and went to wait in the HUGE line for the 10:00 Showing of Fantasmic!
SAM_0272.jpg

The Line was ridiculous! We got in line around 9:00 pm and it was already huge. And the last show was still going on so people couldn't move. It was very hot and very uncomfortable. Finally around 9:45ish, we were allowed in. My aunt was able to get us VIP seating which was in the first mickey section top row. What a fantastic view! We normally go close to the water to get a good view but this was really good and we didn't have bugs all around us! Here are some Fantasmic pictures.

4/21 Magic Kingdom-Today we woke up and got breakfast around 8:15ish. Our Plan for today was to meet my aunt and cousin at Animal Kingdom and then go straight to Magic. This of course didn't work. We went to get in the biggest bus line I have ever seen. After 20 minutes with no bus, we decided to take our car over to Animal Kingdom. My dad hates driving out of Magic kingdom after firework so we ended up going back to All Star after leaving Animal and taking the bus to Magic. By the time we actually got into the Magic Kingdom it was almost 11:00. we started our day with some castle pictures and a tiny parade that was coming down main street.
SAM_0291.jpg

SAM_0292.jpg

SAM_0296.jpg

We decided to tackle the kingdom clockwise, starting with adventureland. We did the Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Pirates here, Both favorites of Haley's.
IMG_0383.jpg

SAM_0298.jpg

Next we went to Frontierland. We did Splash Mountain first which had a 40 minute wait. Haley went on this when she was younger(around 5) and the drop freaked her out. She decided to try it again and found she now LOVES this ride! My mom also did this ride for the first time...she hasn't decided if she can do the drop again.
SAM_0301.jpg

splash.jpg

IMG_0387.jpg

Haley decided she would rather see country bears than go on Thunder Mountain so my mom took her to that while me, dad, Sam, and Sarah waited in a line that was supposed to be 40 minutes long. well we timed it, and it was 70 minutes talk about a long boring wait.

We then went to Liberty Square. All we do here is Haunted Mansion. It was a 10 minute wait. Haley was so scared to go on this ride! but she did fine she said she would go on again.
SAM_0302.jpg

IMG_0388.jpg

Next Up is everybody's favorite land, Fantasyland. Lines weren't as bad as we expected them to be. We started of with the carousel(no wait). Then we did dumbo.(I took my new favorite picture of the castle on this ride)
SAM_0309.jpg

SAM_0310.jpg

After that we went on Snow White's Scary Adventures Which kept breaking down when we were on....so I took pictures.

After Dumbo we had some lunch at Pinocchio's. Then we waited in line for 10 minutes to go on It's a small world. Peter Pan had a 60 minute wait so we fast passed it and moved on to Tomorrowland. We did Indy Speedway first.
IMG_0399.jpg

Followed by a very long wait for Buzz. It was posted at only 30 minutes be we waited a lot longer than that. But the line didn't really bother us. The party in back of us in line had a father and his two teenage sons. One of the sons was wearing a shirt that said "Me" "you" and it was talking about something inappropriate and had a picture. HOW IN THE WORLD HAS DISNEY NOT SAID ANYTHING TO HIM! A local six flags would have kicked him out. That really ticked my parents and myself off. I mean come on your going to a place with kids and families... After about an hour we got onto buzz.
SAM_0313.jpg

And then The ride broke. stopped for about 5 minutes during this time My dad got some many points it was unbelievable. But what do I do when rides stop? Take pictures. lol
SAM_0316.jpg

Once we were off of buzz we went to Space Mountain. The games were fun but hard to do because the line moves through that section very quickly. Like others have said the ride isn't much different but we still had fun. I didn't know where the picture was taken so I look completely bored in it.
We got off and went back to Peter Pan which now had a shorter wait at 45 minutes. We used our fast passes and got on right away.
SAM_0320.jpg

SAM_0324.jpg

Once we got off the ride we found out wishes was going to be before Spectro for some weird reason. So we went to the front of the castle to get good spots. We got right in the center! Here are some wishes fireworks(Sorry about the man's head in all of them I'm only 5'2" LOL)

Wishes ended around 9:30 Spectro was starting at 10:00. We went to the Frontierland area of the parade route which we always do, its a lot quieter and you are guaranteed a spot. The parade doesn't reach Frontierland though until 10:30 but we had some very friendly cast members around us. The made a game out of tape that all of us played and then another guy made his first mickey out of tape.

And then SpectroMagic Came through

4/22- EPCOT We arrived at Epcot around 9:30 am and it was already HOT!!! but the park was EMPTY! I knew today was Animal Kingdom's Birthday and Earth Day but I didn't expect no one. But I wasn't complaining.
epcott.jpg

We went into Innoventions first. We did Where's the fire? where me, sarah and my dad won:). Then we did the putting yourself into a video game. which was a lot of fun.
Next we went to the seas. Nemo had no wait.
SAM_0360.jpg

We got Buttons once we got into the Seas for the movie Oceans. Haley wanted to do Turtle Talk so we took her to that. I have seen that show numerous times and I still laugh at it. So we left the seas and went to the land. Soarin had a ridiculous wait so we fastpassed it already fastpasses were for between 6-7pm. We went on Living with the land Then We went to Imagination.
We did Journey into your imagination first. Which had a 10 minute wait! we actually had to wait in line for it! It surprised us all.
SAM_0368.jpg

We did Honey I shrunk The Audience next. Haley and sarah were the only ones who didn't do it before. So when the mice multiply, everyone in our party lifted up our legs except them. They screamed so loud!
We Then moved onto World Showcase! It was so empty! We loved It! we did the U.K. first where Mary Poppins and Alice were.
SAM_0369.jpg

IMG_0418.jpg

Alice Was the funniest character I think I have ever met.
Within 15 minutes, we also ran into these characters.
