I happened to check Mousesaver.com, and the AP rates for August - October are out. The code is EXI. I just called and booked the Pop Century for Sep 11 - 17 at $59 a night. Yay!

Clarification: for the 2005 Aug-Oct Value Season:

Resort___Rack____Best____AP
_________Rate_____AAA__Rate
_________________Rate

Value______77___61.60____59
Mod_______134__107.20____89
AKL_______199__169.15___129
BW/BC/YC__294__249.90___224

So, as you can see, although sometimes they are close, the AP rate is always lower, sometimes much lower, than the AAA rate.

P.S., I can't see how to get the 17% quoted in an earlier post. Perhaps this if for the GF (as the GF rate is mentioned in the post). All the AP discounts in the table above are more than 23%. The AKL discount is over 35%.

That was me with the 17%, and after reading your post, we are currently calling back right now. Wondering if we just need to talk to someone else or something. Will report back shortly!

hey JP I have a quick question on this. Do the other people need to necessarily be staying at the same resort as the passholder?? Belle

To use the Passholder discount for multiple rooms, everyone needs to be traveling together. Disney defines this as staying at the same resort for the same or overlapping dates, meaning the guest can stay longer after the passholder checks-out, but cannot check-in before the passholder. Also the passholder can check-in before their guest and/or stay longer after their guest checks-out.

Either way, it must be at the same exact resort, meaning the passholder cannot stay at PO Riverside if the guest are staying at PO French Quarter, even though they are called sister resorts.

Here's what we found out. Rack rate for GF is $410. With AP discount, room charge is $340, a discount of $70, making the discount 17%. We also have AAA, so we tried that, it ended up being 15% or $348 per night. Just because I had those numbers in front of me, I asked about the AKL being $199 down to $129. This is correct and the only reason for the difference in discount is because of the resort. I guess we need to get cheaper taste.

Yet another question from me... (I swear I wasn't that annoying über-geek who sat at the front of your classes, asking irritating question after irritating question!! Honest!!!)

I don't have AP passes yet, but I plan on purchasing them for my prospective trip that would be taking advantage of these rates. Do I need to have a confirmed AP (obviously not the ticket but some kind of registration or passholder number) when I make the booking or can I just present it upon my arrival?

Have I mentioned how helpful everyone is in helping the AP newb with her questions???

No you don't need to have it to book the room(s), but you will more than likley need it when you check in(sometimes they have not asked for mine, sometimes they have).

Thanks for getting back on this. The explanation is clear: this code gives $70 discount for deluxe hotels regardless of the resort. So $410-70=340, and $199-70=129. $70 is a bigger percentage on a hotel that has a cheaper rack rate.
