AOL installation problem

Okay peeps, time for another in the 'Tenchu troubleshooting' series.

Attempted to install the new version of AOL (8.0) but every time i go to run it, it reboots my computer. No warning, nothing.

Have tried everything i could think of, phoned AOL tech support and they were useless, just told me to reinstall in safe mode.

AOL 6.0 still runs fine (7.0 does the same thing as 8.0)

At the end of my tether here folks. Please help.

Yes and the first time i tried to run it after that...

It rebooted my computer.

I nearly rebooted my bloody computer out the window!

Windows XP.

For months now I've had to use AOL 6.0 which is not totally compatible with XP because of the problems I've been having.

What brand computer/mother board you using (this may seem like an odd question..but I have my reasons)

I'm running an AMD Athlon, 1.40 GHZ with 256 MB RAM

Does it have a network shutdown function? (remote networking thing)

Well, the first suggest I would have is to

DITCH AOL.

Just my personal opinion, but there are considerably better options available, almost everywhere... and generally cheaper, too!

Believe me, its getting to that point.

I've had nothing but trouble from AOL, and as soon as i get around to upgrading to broadband, they are getting ditched! :lol:

If it hadn't been for you pesky AOL, i would have gotten away with it too! :lol:
