AoA The Lion King

From the pictures I love the Little Mermaid bathroom the best, but finding Nemo overall the best. The lion king is one of my favorite movies so I hate to say this but those rooms look like a cheap motel to me. I think its the furniture and the dark color. Ive got to say the same about Cars too, though it looks slightly better than lion king, its still got this cheap motel look to it. Maybe thats the way its supposed to feel as thats kinda what the cars stayed in in the movie. The themeing is very creative, I like the car wash theme in the bathroom. Maybe if they had used different furniture or brighter colors, it might not look so gloomy. Just my opinion from my the pictures, it might change if or when I ever see them in person.

That's very good to know. I think the real problem WDW has is that their site isn't very informative about room types. They show a few pics, and the descriptions are thin. That's why I come here for all of my information!

Try tripadvisor.com also. They are great for photos of rooms and seeing what the place really looks like. Its peoples own photos that they post and their own reviews of the hotel. I never plan a trip with out going to tripadvisor.

I dont get why everything has to be oversized and massive? One of the reasons why the Cars section came out so well is becauase its normally sized. I just think the massive figures make the resort look tacky. However, its still a huge improvement over the other beyond tacky value resorts.

So that's why there was a camera crew in the lobby on thursday

Edit: except this was uploaded weeks ago. They must've been shooting something else then

Really? Geez.

Really.

It is loud and tacky and while I think there are some nice touches, for instance I like the Cars themed suites from the pics, it still is a basic motel and the buildings from the outside look very ... basic.

I think the looks of some areas at and ASMu are much nicer and classier.

I think they look better than Pop Century and All Stars. Having said that, the price doesnt' scream "value resort" to me.

Well, I've stayed at the Ritz Carlton for less than what one of these suites costs, so it is typical Disney absurd price points. ... Been seeing lots of $66 rooms advertised at and ASMu (in the past I'd be taking advantage right now, but would rather save my money for DLR in three weeks!) and I look at this as something that should command a slightly higher pricepoint ... maybe $89-129 a night.

But the Pixie Dust addicts will stay there (Disney hopes).

This reminds me of a similar quote...

“I liked it better when it was a parking lot”-John Hench

Except that quote has never been attributed by a legit news source or anyone I know that was there that day. I was at DCA's opening and during the two weeks before and after. I even saw/heard Hench doing interviews on the morning of 2/8/01 and never heard those words uttered.

I agree with you completely, the outside of the buildings look very plain imho. I've always liked the buildings at All Stars and Pop. They at least have some zing to 'em.

But... *giggles* I'm so immature. There's gotta be an alternate abbreviation or something. :p

The problem I have with this one is that there's nothing at all that screams "only Disney could do this" besides the obvious licensing. It looks very...average. Obviously its not a deluxe resort, but still, I think more could have been done.

The space of two rooms plus an up charge for the newness factor should equal around $220 a night in my opinion. I'd be willing to pay that if I stayed in the garish value resorts to begin with.
