AOA hit by lightning

Just as the original poster said "Struck by lightning" is what I was told when I checked in last Friday. They moved us to the Cars suites. I am however calling a major BS on this one. I think the Nemo suites were overbooked. At night we saw plenty of lights on in rooms, people coming to and from Nemo. I debated bringing all these things up at the front desk but after sitting outside by the pool at night, I am glad we didn't have Nemo. I don't know how guests in the pool side suites put up with all the noise. Especially with small children.

I don't know much about the layout of AoA, but is it possible that only some of the Nemo area was affected?

It is certainly possible but I would think a lightning strike causing the AC to go out would affect a whole building and not just certain rooms. I could be wrong.
I can tell you there were people in both Nemo buildings.

I would understand that Disney can't control the freaking lightning and would be happy if they moved me somewhere comparable. No upgrade needed.
The problem is that there are very few comparable rooms. A vacant suite in one of the other AoA buildings or the value suites would be a comparable swap, but pretty much anything else without the mini-kitchen could be seen as a downgrade.

Unfortunately lightening is one of those things you just deal with when you live in Orlando. When I lived there my dads house lost his a/c unit twice in one summer and I lost tv's on two separate occasions. As much of a hassle it would be to get shuffled to a different room or resort that's a whole lot better than being told to wait it out without a/c imo.

Its still surprising they do not have lightning arrests or lightning towers.
or they do at AOA?

I am sure they do, but they do not always work. You can also have direct strikes to physical hardware and there is little you can do about that.
I suppose its not normal to have those radioactive ones in the US? (those that emit something and ionize the air so they literally attract the lightning)

Just give me a room with A/C. You don't have to upgrade me, although it would be nice for the inconvenience of up and moving to another room. If it was AOA, then I would hope that even though it was a LM value room, I'd still like to stay at AOA. So... I would want a room ( suite). I know that sounds greedy, but I wanted the experience of being at the new AOA, not the old POP or ALL STARS ( sorry).:(

being disappointed is fair enough, I would be too. Comparable would be ok with me because I do not feel entitled about upgrading. If they upgrade me fine, but comparable is just as good for me.
