Anyone still take the Walt Disney World Railroad before they enter the Magic Kingdom?

It seems most people do the mad rush for the mountains or whatever their favorite attractions are.. including me :(

But the next time I go to Dinsey World I'm definately going to take the time to ride the Walt Disney World Railroad before I go down main street.

What does everyone else think about the railroad?

PS: The railroads direction is from mainstreet to frontierland to toontown, in that order?

Yep; unless you went in 1991-2 when Splash was being built :D

Taking the WDW Railroad as the first ride of the trip has been, and most likely always will be, a tradition. Back in 1994, on my first trip, I was so amazed at this place... and then I saw the train. I can't remeber if I cried, or jumped up and down in excitement!

take it from another station -- as a break -- then you can pick up where you left off at in the park... unless it's time for the train to take a break -- then you are forced to get off at the next stop -- this stinks.

We love the train. However, I just don't feel like I am officially at Disney until that walk down Mainstreet. We usually do the train later in the day, for a break. Or to get back to Splash for our fast pass time.

Whenever we ride, it's usually "The Grand Circle Tour" so we don't skip the walk up main street. We once sat in the last seats and spent the time talking to the conductor. I highly suggest it. It's very informative and this fellow was more than happy to answer any questions about the train and related jobs that I asked.

Yeah. I'm taking my friend for the first time this summer. I can't wait to see his face when we emerge from underneath the Main Street train station.

You know that sounds like a good idea. I have not been on the train in years and have almost forgotten about it because I never see it running anymore. The other night going home from MK I could here the train "HOOOOT"ing all the way from the back of the parking lot about to the Richard Petty Track!! That is about 2 miles away!!!

We took the Behind the Scenes Train Tour last Oct., it starts at 7a.m. so after touring the train/monorail shed we hoped on the train to go back to the Main Street Station right at 9a.m. which is of course park opening time. There were several people waiting in line for what they thought would be the "first" train ride that day...

The looks of confusion on their faces was worth the price of the tour!!

Our group tends to make use of the RailRoad more often the park is busier and attractions have longer waits. Also, later in the afternoon we may frequent it, as we sometimes need a break, though TTA serves the same purpose.
However, we probably won't be riding it this year if the construction is still going on.

Of Course I don't take the train before I enter the MK. because it is in the MK:p
anyway. Yes I do take the train to BTMRR and Splashmountain first thing in the morning. then i run over to fantasyland jumping over strollers to get in line to ride those. THe rest of the rides seem to have decent lines, Cept 4 Space mtn which i wait till around closing to ride.

I always want to do the "Grand Circle" around the park before walking down main street but I always get distracted and head right for Main Street after the Good Morning Song....Oh well. Maybe one day I will actually stick to my schedule LOL.
